Well, first take it as kind of a compliment that he likes you...no offence because I don't know you. Also, if he's a nice guy then give him a chance. u must have known him for a while so u should know how his personality is. If he was never a disgusting jerk then chances are he won't become one. And if he does, there are plenty of other guys out there. u wont' make a fool of yourself, everyone has a situation like this [well, I have at least] and they get through it fine. I think that u should give him a chance. Just because he's a football player doesn't mean that he's a jerk, if he has liked u for years then he'd probably be really sweet to you.
You've got to take chances in life, some pay off.

Don't make a fool of yourself door having a friend ask him for you... for emample I have this friend that likes u she's nice and cute but she's too shy to ask u .

it was like that once for me even kno he is like jurkish just be your self even if your freinds dont like him just say are u guys still my freinds if they say yes u can like him but if they say no then wait ..... mabey he will be better of nicer
