The school-yard chronicles
Part 1: Ghost
Janie walked through the crowds of kids. THere were shouts, there were fights, there were swear words, and then there was Jeremy. His muffins. Sounds silly at first, but then again, so does some religions. But they are still true? I am the Ghost. People call me that, in memory of my first appearance. My identity is Seth. Blonde, with grey fur, and scorchy oranje eyes. Weird right? But the girls at my school find it attractive. I'm athletic, handsome, polite, smart, and can cook. You're probably thinking, "Cooking?" But yeah. It lets me survive on my own with my brother. My parents died when I was six. SInce then, My brother, whom is in grade twelve, took care of me. Who is Ghost u ask? Just a ghost. The ghost of retribution. A vile mercenary. Quite a serious name for a school-yard character right? But at any rate, this is my story. The story of the school-yard chronicles.
Janie pushed her way through the crowds. Surrounding Jeremy, the boy who sold the muffins, was a huge voracious crowd that caused a huge uproar, on the subject of Jeremy's muffins. It was simply the matter of respect ant bullying. One side took the side of Jeremy. The side that caused it all. I don't blame them, because they are standing up for themselves. Because THEY get the muffins while the otherside doesn't. They believe that all should stay the same. The otherside, believes that they should either get muffins, of the otherside should STOP getting muffins. It's all the same. u have to wonder. If muffins can spark a war between five, six hundred kids? What will our race become?
I stood in awe as everyone argued around me. Then I saw the face.
The face that became the leader of the side against Jeremy. Angelica. That rabbit... Her round glasses... She thought that everyone should be the same. Egalitarian. I get it... We all have our own beliefs... But why should we blow them up in other people's faces... Then I thought, as she began one of her speeches. "We should all be treated the same!" I thought some more... "THe very cause of this fight is because of people's thoughts!" Wait... "It's time for someone to stand up against it!" Yes... It is... "That person is going to be me!" THen it hit me. Hell no, Angelica. It's going to be me. "The ghost of the heavens, is going to cleanse our hearts and fix what we have done!" "That's just it. Ghost. I will be the ghost. "Seth, can u believe her?" Janie called to me, brushing up against my side. She was beautiful. But despite the fact I liked her, and she liked me, as did all the girls at our school, I decided not to toon it. Feelings and belief can be very strong things. But I could believe Angelica. And I decided, that the 'Ghost' was going to be on the side of the people. "Yes. I can believe her." "You what?" Janie asked, quizzically. But I was gone. I was running.
Full speed, down the sidewalk, towards Janie's house, was where I went. I knew what I wanted. WHO, I wanted... Abigail. Janie's younger sister. She was ALWAYS a resourceful character. If I wanted gear, then she was my best bet. I arrived at Janie's fence. I hopped it, with no effort, and ran to the treehouse. I 'double runged' the ladder up, and burst into Abigail's personal domain. Pieces of metal, wires, and power tools were everywhere. "Abby!" I called. Abigail appeared at the doorway to her room. "Yes?" She asked. "I need your help."
"Ghost u say?" She asked. I nodded. "And, what exactly, do u wish to accomplish with this... Phantom...?" "I'm gojng to choose the side of the people. I want this to end. No matter what side wins." I explained. Abigail waited a moment. She then walked into her room and out. She held pieces of metal, and fabric. "First, u will need an outfit." She told me. Then, she put on a quizzical expression. "What are u smiling at? She asked. And just then, I realised I was smiling. The ghost was awakening.
