POV: Humphrey

It was the jaar of 1994 in Atlanta motor speedway the Hooters 500, it was the last race of the season and whoever comes out with the most points will be crowned champion. I was the age of 19 just one meer jaar until I was eligible to driver for someone in the NASCAR Winston cup series just sitting on my dads Pit box volgende to his crew chief just watching and hoping for him to make it on top. For the championship It was a battle between my father Humphrey Sr. in his Chevy black #3 was in the 15th position , Mark Martin in his blue and black Ford #6 in the 17th position , and Rusty Wallace in his black and goud Dodge #2 in the 4th position each had 10 to 5 points apart from each other. Before the race was over about 5 laps to go, a caution was flown for Rusty as his tire blew making him slam the outside uithangbord making major damage to Rusty's #2 car knocking him out of the race making it a two man battle for the championship between my father and Mark Martin. As pit road was open, Mark and my father both stayed out while some of the lapped down cars pitted. On the restart my father was now 10th and Mark was 16th with only two laps to go, if my father can just stay ahead of Mark he would earn his 7th championship and tie it with the king. After the two laps my father is now 5th and Mark is trying to take 12th away from the Ford #44 of Jimmy Hensley. But time ran out for Mark as the leader crosses the finish line following three other drivers and my dad right behind, when he crossed the line a NASCAR official ran over to my dad's pit box to talk to crew chief Mike and yells something in his ear but I couldn't hear a word of what they zei because of how loud it was. When the official got done telling him what he needed to say he then climbed back down from the pit box, Mike tells my dad "you just earned your self another trophy to add to your cabinet buddy!" then after u can hear my dad on the radio saying " YES,YES, YES thank u guys for getting us into this, u guys are MY HEROS WOOOO" after the winner of the race and my dad did their burnouts, my dad drove his car into a stage where the NASCAR Winston cup, me, the crew, NASCAR CEO Bill France JR., NASCAR President Mike Helton, and in front what looks like thousands of fans cheering and clapping for my fathers championship victory.
