No, we’re not talking about the 2014 Primetime Emmys broadcast — you’ll have to wait till next Monday, Aug. 25 at 8/7c for that — but rather, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which were just handed out at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

All told, for the first round of Emmy-awarding, HBO — which this year amassed 99 total nominations — is on top with 15 total wins, followed by NBC (10), PBS (8) and Fox and Netflix (with 7 each).

The Creative Arts Emmys will be broadcast Sunday, Aug. 24 at 8/7c, on FXM.

YES! SO happy for Joe Morton finally getting recognized for his work!

Ditto, and this category should have been included in the telecast on the 25th.

I’d love it if they did a meta episode about the Emmys or awards in general next season.

Thrilled that Joe Morton won! So long overdue!

Extremely disappointed that Joe Morton won the award. His dialogue style in each and every episode, to every person, was the same condescending tone one. Dylan Baker or Beau Bridges for me were much much better.

I do find it a bit robotic and repetitive (almost Margaret Thatcher style, emphasizing every other syllable) after 18 episodes, but since the prize is for guest acting in a single episode (and if you don’t take into account him being in almost every episode), I guess it’s still pretty outstanding, if one looks at the character and dialogue itself for the single episode.

Does anybody know which episode Morton submitted ?

Allison Janney YES! Such a well deserved award, she is heartbreakingly brilliant on Masters of Sex (and equally amazing in Mom, hope she wins that one too!)

Ah, and Nathan Lane strikes out yet again for honor for MODERN FAMILY. Sad.

I AGREE!!!! Love Jimmy Fallon, but Nathan Lane losing AGAIN is travesty!

I kind of hate Nathan Lane in every comedic thing he’s done since that terrible show Encore. He’s basically just doing a bad Liberace impression every time. His dramatic performances, on the other hand, those are like from a completely different actor. One with skills. Love him on The Good Wife.

I love Allison Janney & Joe Morton (Eureka ♡)…. so, yay, congrats to them!

I like Jane Lynch on Hollywood Game Night, but I am SO disappointed that Cat Deeley didn’t win for SYTYCD! She is an awesome and perfect host!

Laverne has said in interviews that she knew Uzo would win. They are both outstanding on OITNB! Congrats Crazy Eyes!

These awards should be shown to us live durimg the Emmy’s. What we’re left with is a lot of celebrity guff and commercials for the upcoming fall season. Show us the craft and crew, what makes television work. Not everything is glitz and glitter.

Silly me thinking they would give the award to something new and actually funny.

Can someone explain to me why the guest actor/ actress Emmy’s are announced during the Creative Arts Emmy’s and not during prime time? It just seems odd to me.

i think mainly because of time restraint for the live broadcast.

I was trying to figure out how the heck Fallon won, but considering how lousy most of the season was it was a lot easier to stand out. Plus, clearly the right people like him given some of the competition he’s crushed in the past.

Don’t dislike the guy or anything but had an instinctive, “Really?” when I saw his name.

Bigger!! Yes! I still watch that on YouTube. That Tony Awards show was fantastic!

Why hasn’t BONES ever been nominated for an EMMY! I think its all fixed. Bones is going into its 10th season and never an EMMY.

Happy Jimmy, SNL, Fargo, The Blacklist, HIMYM, and Orange Is The New Black won last night.

Joe Morton is awesome as Olivia’s dad. Well done.
