Yuri Nakamura (仲村 ゆり, Nakamura Yuri) is the founder and leader of the Afterlife-based school organization Shinda Sekai Sensen. She leads the campaign of a number of students who fight against God, whom they blame for their cruel fates.

In the events prior to founding of the SSS, she wears the default school uniform, consisting of a white polo overhemd, shirt under a sandy brown blazer and a short black pleated skirt. After she founded the SSS, she issues a different uniform to its members including herself, with features similar to a typical sailor fuku uniform. The uniform has a blue kraag and rok and a dark roze ribbon for girls. Yuri often holds a pistol in the anime.
She also wears black thigh-highs and she adorns her hair with a hairband with a yellow/green ribbon dangling on the right side. At times, she wears a white beret, most usually in operation briefings.
As long as the SSS are gathered in the Anti-Angel Headquarters, Yuri will be seen either on the principal's seat, of standing door the window.
Yuri possesses the characteristics of a charismatic leader, as her determination and her ability to stay calm even in difficult situations always gives her the respect of the rest of the SSS. She is also very intelligent and able to understand situations and make snap decisions. However, she can be random at times, as she once involved newly-recruited Otonashi in a conference on whether the name of their club is to be changed. Occasionally, she lets out a large haughty, ojou-sama-esque laugh whenever events go her way. Yusa once commentaren she sounds like a villain.
Her nickname is "Yurippe", a nickname suggested door Hinata because his mother has the same name and he felt strange calling her that. Almost all of the known SSS members only call her door her nickname (except Otonashi, Shiina and Iwasawa). Despite being the leader, Yuri gives full respect to her other members as well. This is seen when Yuri calls Iwasawa and Shiina with "-san" at the back, acknowledging their abilities and capabilities.
Also, she is not afraid to make necessary sacrifices, usually involving her subordinates' deaths since she is fully aware that they will recover from being "dead". Despite this, she feels responsible for the lives of her subordinates and is badly affected door their loss.[1] When it became obvious that a situation has arisen where death (or conditions similar to death) is permanent, she assumed the burden of fighting alone and attempted to ensure everyone else is veilig [2] even if she knows that it was pretty much suicide.
Similar to how the anime stress on Angel loves for Mapo Tofu, in Heaven's Door and the 4-koma, it is heavily stressed that Yuri HATES nattou (even in her child days).
uri is the oldest of four siblings, with two younger sisters and one younger brother. They lived with their parents
Yuri with her family in a middle-class residence, and were described as being very well off in life.
When their parents left the house one dag for personal business, a group of robbers broke in and attempted to rob the house. Unfortunately, they couldn't find where the family's valuables were, so they turned to Yuri, the eldest, to take them to the family's prized possessions; otherwise, they would kill off her siblings at ten-minute intervals. Unfortunately, she failed to save her siblings, having never been told the location of any priceless items in the house.
After that, she began to vraag why did her siblings have to die when they were just innocent children and she lost everything that was the most important to her and the only people she had to protect within 30 minutes. Her failure to save her siblings became her inspiration to incite a rebellion against the "higher being" who looks after the afterlife (who she assumes is God) and those who work for Him. She assumed Angel to be an angel who worked for God upon meeting her, due to her position in the school as a regulator and disciplinary. Her initial viewing of her Hand Sonic ability also served to mark her, in Yuri's mind, as something supernatural of extraordinary (This is later disproved in episodes 5-10, where it is revealed Angel had been crafting her own abilities using a program).
The circumstances of how she died are left unclear, besides that it was not caused door a suicide.
