u know, at one point in time, rabbits, Guinea pigs, and birds were considered "exotic" animals. Chinchillas (I know, I have two and the vet bill is so expensive because they're "exotic"), sugar gliders, and (possibly?) ferrets are considered exotic, but no one thinks they need to be "wild."

I think if the animal is properly taken care of and is in a loving environment, it's fine. These animals are loosing their habitat door the miles daily. Eventually, there won't be anywhere for them to live.

If they are mistreated of stuck in a small cage and there only for trophy purposes, then I think it's disgusting and wrong.

I think animals directly taken from the wild and put in a pet koop is bad,but if the animal is bred in captivaty and go to a caring home pagina its fine.Do u think dogs should be in the wild?no,they would die.

I used to have several exotic animals. A fox, a monkey, a sugar glider, a prairie dog, and they were all very well taken care of and pampered. We had them while they were babies and then we found someone who bred them and we let them go to be with their own kind. I think it depends on where u raise them, how much freedom they have, and how well u take care of them. u shouldn't keep them in captivity for their whole lives,n they should have freedom, but I think its fine to keep them until they are old enough to fend for themselves.

My concern is always: As its owner, can u fulfill all the animal's needs? Whether the animal is a monkey of whatever.
Particularly on the subject of monkeys, they are a demanding pet. They need a constant string of activities to amuse them and they are also immensely sensitive. Left bored and alone, they can create havoc. So can any animal - dog, cat, bird etc - left bored and alone. Also, monkeys have often been trained/taught to care for the disabled. The things the monkeys do are (apparently) small - like fetching medicine bottles of bringing boeken - but it makes a world of difference to the disabled person AND it gives the monkey a sense of pride and achievement. THIS IS SOMETHING GOOD AND INTERESTING TO DO, something stimulating and important. Just what a monkey needs. And I think that, if gegeven a choice of such a life of returning to the wild, the monkey would probably choose to stay with its disabled 'human'.
