It was a tough toss-up between a lot of parents of the same series, but I have to go with Ren Sohma, Akito's mother in Fruits Basket. She's just so... well, she forced her daughter to live as a man because she wouldn't have it that a woman was in such an important family position (*sarcastic* What a feminist we got there...), and she really only cared about her husband, Akira. She's pretty much the reason why Akito is so... well, Akito. And she lied to Isuzu Sohma about knowing a way to break the Zodiac curse just to get an empty box that an old maid told Akito that her father's soul was in to make her feel better, which caused Isuzu to be locked away door Akito.

I'd say Mayuri Kurotsuchi from Bleach..

Well he treats his lieutenant Nemu Kurotsuchi who just so happens to be his artificially-created "daughter" like crap. He treats his "daughter" meer like an object and constantly smacks her around, belittles her, and expects her to grievously injure herself for his sake in battle. Plus when Szayel Aporro Grantz nearly sucked the life out of Nemu, Mayuri reinvigorates Nemu through offscreen means (which tons of people have claimed it sounded as if he were molesting her of something). >.>

Ryuuken Ishida, Bleach. He is such an ezel to Uryuu. He made a remark to Isshin that he didn't care if he lived of died! That's pretty harsh. Although I have noticed the English version has him a bit meer cruel than the Japanese

Ok, Hohenheim was an exceptionally bad father in the manga/Brotherhood, but the 2003 anime managed to make him WORSE. (Spoilers, be careful) It turns out that Hohenheim is not only Ed and Al's dad, but Envy's as well. In fact, Hohenheim is the reason Envy exists, the reason he hates the Elric brothers, and the majority of the entire series can pretty much be blamed on his abandonment of Envy after he failed to resurrect William (Envy). While he very clearly loves Ed and Al, he never even tells Envy that he cares, and refers to him as a monster RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE. He's like... the Ursa of the Karura of the Odin of the series - worst parent ever, but the fans love him anyway. I know his death scene in Conqueror of Shamballa was supposed to be tragic, but in my opinion, he got what he deserved! The exact same thing happened in Avatar: the Last Airbender, Thor, Bleach, and even Naruto! The parent (Ursa, Odin, Yukio's parents/Ryuken, Hiashi/Hizashi) treats the kid like shit, and the kid (Azula, Loki, Yukio/Uryu, Hinata/Neji) turns out extremely screwed up in the head! It happens all the goddamn time, but at least the other parents had the decency to PRETEND they gave a damn. Say what u want about Hohenheim, says he's handsome, strong, and kind, but call him a decent father, and you're out of your freaking mind.

Since Shou Tucker has been geplaatst twice, I'll go with my seconde choice, Gendo Ikari. He's such a terrible father, abandoning his son and only calling him back when he has a use for him, to pilot the Eva. And he just ignores Shinji most of the time. He's just awful.

Franklin Bidan from Zeta Gundam.
