What is this "Endless 8"?

I've been watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and on my way to season 2 (well started) and what is this endless 8 I keep hearing about even my friend warned me about it when I started season 2. Can anyone tell me?

it's a time loop. the exact same thing happens in every episode, with only slight alterations and angles. for 8 episodes. i haven't quite mentally prepared myself to take this plunge yet and have only seen the first episode of this.

so basically its the exact same plot but with different stuff like some dialogue and clothing of places? if so...I'm up for the challenge of watching it all >:D
