Guilty Crown—Shu is a self-loathing teenager who even doubts his vrienden are truly his friends. Then he meets the singer Inori, who is moonlighting with a “terrorist” group called Funeral Parlor, led door the charismatic Gai. Gai inspires loyalty from his men (and women), but he is not what he seems. Soon, Shu finds himself fighting on their side, because of his power to reach into people’s hearts and draw out objects, often weapons, known as “Voids”.
Now terrorist is a strong word with a lot of negative meaning behind it. Why should we root for Funeral Parlor? Well, ten years ago, an outbreak of a deadly disease called the Apocalypse Virus brought Japan to its knees. Other countries took over running the once mighty nation, and they rule with an iron fist, often selecting innocent citizens out for brutal execution.
We see Shu grow from that self-loathing kid into a healthily confident young man with true friends. Then we flinch to see him become a ruthless tyrant. And then, after a great humiliation, we see him come back into the light. Throughout all this, Inori is door his side, quietly offering her support.
Inori is in grave danger, however. Plans are for her to be killed so her body can be taken over door the world’s new Eve, who needs an Adam. The whole world is to be laid waste door the Apocalypse Virus, making way for the volgende step in “evolution” as the new Adam and Eve start the human race all over again. This combination of Bible terminology and talk of evolution make for some mystical weirdness.
This is not my favoriete anime door a long shot. I didn’t understand everything that was going on. But if this were a book, it would be what is called a “page turner”. I found myself marathoning episodes, desperate to find out what happens next.

Mysterious Girlfriend X—There are a couple of onbeantwoord vragen I have about this anime. Who came up with this premise? Who writes this stuff? An anime u don’t want to watch while snacking, the story involves two high school sweethearts whose biggest bond between them is saliva. Drool. The girl, Urabe, puts her finger in her mouth, gets a big wad of saliva on it, and then lets her boyfriend, Tsubaki, taste it. They do this each dag of Tsubaki will get a fever. Here’s another question: Why did I watch this series? I usually don’t like gross-out humor.
The answer is this: beyond the drool lies a sweet story of young love and coming of age awakenings. Hiding your romance from your classmates, trying to get a hug, nervousness about visiting her at her home, eagerly waiting for bikini season…And of course, exchanging drool in front of your mother’s grave!
Then there’s this thing about a pair of scissors Urabe keeps in her panties. Let’s not get into that.

Waiting in the Summer—A gang of vrienden plus one pretty newcomer enjoy summer vacation filming an amateur movie that oddly reflects the life of the new girl. See, Ichika is an alien. That’s right, she’s from another planet. Complicating matters is that the leading boy, Kaito, has fallen for her and she can’t stay on the planet long. Plus everyone else seems to be falling for each other as well. Some romances will be reciprocated; others will end with broken hearts.
What I like about this toon is the main romance is not left hanging like in most anime, where u scratch your head after watching the last episode and say, “Well, do they get together of not?” u will know the couple is an item. Another thing I like is some of the characters wear glasses and that doesn’t automatically make them loveless nerds. We’ve come a long way, baby.
Does it have a happy ending? Watch for a clue involving a Bolivian sweater!
