Heat Guy J—the first episode was stylish, yet uninvolving. But I stuck it through the rest of the disc and ended up hooked. It became one of my favoriete series. Daisuke is Mr. Nice Guy in a cool way. He has a way of making even enemies his friends. Characters and their relationships evolve. The climactic episodes are very exciting! It’s like everyone, good guy of baddie, is your buddy door the end. In my personal collection—how could I let these vrienden go?

Jing, King of Bandits: Seventh Heaven-see also entry “King of Bandit Jing”. Well, although I was disappointed with the last episode of the original series, I was determined to watch any meer Jing anime that was released in the States, and so I did. Features Jing and Kir in a dream world, and also the story of how Kir became Jing’s sidekick.

Kaze no Yojimbo—a drifter calling himself George Kodama comes to a small Japanese town seeking to solve the mystery of his missing brother. A gal named Miyuki takes a liking to him. The mystery wound up in a satisfactory manner, but not George and Miyuki’s potential romance. In fact, it almost ruined the series for me. And did I mention George is a lot like Spike Spiegel? Too bad Steve Blum was voicing another character in the series, of we’d have definite Spike cloning. This series also uses colors in an interesting way that’s hard to get used to at first.

King of Bandit Jing—cute series featuring exotic fantasy locales. I like Jing’s bird, Kir. He reminds me of my favoriete Disney character, Iago. I was disappointed in the final story arc, though, because I thought Jing endangered an innocent man’s life in gladiator games, and also he wasn’t telling what went on with him and the princess. And before that, I was thinking he had no interest in girls. Sure, there are so many girl guest stars they’re known as “Jing girls”, but he hardly shows interest in them. tonen interest is left up to Kir, who is crazy about human females.

Kino’s Journey—a thoughtful series involving travels on an earth-like planet to various communities. Kino is meer observer than hero. Sometimes I thought about giving up on this series, and then it would come up with something so profound I had to continue watching.

Le Portrait de Petite Cossette—this is branded as horror, but it really wasn’t too scary. I guess I’m kinda relieved.

Legend of the Dragon Kings—hour long episodes. Things will play out easier if u remember that the dragon brothers place at number one on their lijst not always doing the right thing, but always keeping the family together. Last episode was really annoying. Not only was it anti-American, but it was also one of those “oh, it was only a dream” type of deals. This series I enjoyed most of the time while watching it, but the last episode turned me against it.

Martian Successor Nadesico—a comedic series with odd touches of angst. Hard to understand, though. Satisfying romantic conclusion in the last episode. The surprisingly dark movie left something to be desired.

Master Keaton: Keaton is a man with many talents, including fighting skills, yet he spends meer time observing then getting in trouble himself. The real stars of this series are the guest characters, each with an interesting story to tell of dilemma to face. Not for everybody, this series runs the gamut from violent mes fights to plots about how to cook a Chinese avondeten, diner to impress your possibly future father-in-law.

Mirage of Blaze—my only yaoi series! (Though not much really happens in guy-on-guy action.) Some review I read is right—it is mostly exposition.

Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok: I remember reading about Norse mythology when I was a kid, and feeling sorry for Loki, so I knew this series was for me, even though I didn’t catch it until episode 9 ran on anime Network on Demand on my cable system. It was easy enough to catch up on, and when I reinstated my Netflix subscription, I caught up on the early episodes. It’s funny to see what the powerful Norse pantheon is reduced to in modern dag Japan. Loki, stuck in the body of a thirteen jaar old, runs a detective agency. His son, Yamino, who looks older than him, is his valet, and is constantly looking for household gadgets and exotic foods to mail order. Loki’s oldest son, Fenrir, is gegeven the adorable body of a puppy. Thor, going door the name Narugami, is always on the lookout for a part-time job and carries around a stick instead of a hammer. Frey lives for sales and pines after Mayura, his “classic Japanese beauty”. favoriete moment: When Fenrir worries about his father and looks out the window, crying, “Howl! Daddy! Howl! Daddy!”
