Avril Lavigne Article: What is wrong...??

I don’t know what’s wrong with the “Goodbye Lullaby” era. It is not appreciated as it should be. This album is something someone would love to listen to. It has these soft tracks with deep meaning and great music. I personally think that this is best album ever released door Avril. She worked really hard on this. But I wonder why, still people won’t appreciate her hard work.

The best thing about this album in my opinion is its music. The work on the melody, tune, vocals and the instruments is remarkable. All the songs are perfectly made.

Now I’m going to state my opinion on each song-

1.    Black ster - It’s a lullaby and theme song of her perfume. So I won’t say much about it. As I was appreciating the instrument work in the album, I’d say that the work of ‘Xylophone’ in this is amazing. It is so pleasant to our ears and soothes our mind. (it does with me)

2.    What The Hell - I found WTH to be the worst track on the album. It is good; it’s just my least favorite. But weird thing is – that it’s the most famous track up on her album. *Thanks to RCA records to include it up in her album and releasing it as a single. (Non-Sarcastic)* The best part of WTH is that the vocals are amazing. It is really tough to sing but Avril managed.

I believe there is barely a person in the world who doesn’t like soft, smooth, mellow and deep songs. What the hell is an upbeat song with catchy lyrics, fun to sing and dance to. But in my opinion other tracks are perfectly amazing. They are like the MUST LISTEN tracks on the album. People, who had only listened to the singles, must check out her album.

(For those who DON’T like WTH and won’t care to listen to other tracks)
“You can not judge a book door it’s cover” – it’s a quite famous quote. And it totally sets right on Avril. u really can’t judge the whole album, just door its singles. I know WTH and Smile are like her TBDT era. But, u got to check out the other tracks. They are just like Let go and UMS era. *Thanks again to RCA records for making people think that GL is another TBDT kind of album. (Sarcasm Applied)*

3.    Push - Push is a really soft song. It has soft drum beat and the vocals are great. The background singing is amazing; it made the song sound better. And one of the great thing is that there’s a little part of Evan Taubenfled. Push has really nice and strong lyrics. The gitaar chords are pretty.

4.    Wish u Were Here - Another soft song. Its lyrics are about loving someone and wishing that he’d always stay door your side and recalling those blissful moments u spend with him. This song totally describes people lives. This song is something u can relate with. This song proves that Avril is an amazing vocalist. In the bridge part if u listen carefully there is Avril harmonizing, which proves that she has a really strong voice.

5.    Smile - Last upbeat song up on the album is Smile. Its melody is nice. The work on electric gitaar is nice too. And the song turns out to be pleasant in the chorus. The lyrics are catchy but nice. It surely describes her current relationship with Brody Jenner. And it is also my all time favoriete song. The muziek Video is well made. I thought that it will be about a guy hanging out with Avril, but the muziek video turned out to be quite different and impressive. It’s about making people Smile. 

6.    Stop Standing There - Another soft and mellow song. Its lyrics are very different from the other songs. When the album was just released it used to be my favoriete track on the album. The Clapping puts great effect on the song. u can relate it with your crush.

7.    I Love u - Almost each person has crush on somebody these days. So, u can easily relate to this song. The theme of the song is deep and nice. It gets pretty good in the chorus. The use of words could’ve been stronger but still the lyrics bears emotion.

8.    Everybody Hurts - This song has the best melody, tune and instrument work in my opinion. It sounds realistic. Her voice has emotion. The gitaar chords and piano tune and the violin work are remarkable. As for the lyrics, it has depth and doesn’t lack emotion at all.

9.    Not Enough - Again great instrumental work. The gitaar tune is amazing. The use of words is the best. The vocabulary is strong and nice. The violin work is amazing too. Proves her strong voice in the end of the song.

10.    4 Real - Not a fan of this song but I’d say that this song is perfectly made. The lyrics are different from any other song. The gitaar chords are amazing too. Hard to sing in the chorus. The background singing puts great effect on the song, made it sound better.

11.    Darlin’ - My all time favoriete track. I can’t believe that this song was the first song Avril had written before starting her career because it sounds so professional. Can’t imagine that it’s a 14-15 jaar old girl work. Sounds a lot mature. meer of an acoustic song. Very soft drum beat with the best violin work besides Goodbye.

12.     Remember When - Most underrated song, but one of the best tracks on the album. Soft and great work at Piano. Great use of vocabulary. Lyrics are great too.

13.    Goodbye – A great song. Sort of a lullaby. It’s about Deryck. Avril has put lots of emotion in the song. She has produced this song too. Great work at Violin, probably the best violin work in my opinion and the softest track on the album.

What’s wrong with these? ^^ What’s wrong with these soft tracks? A soft track about love door Justin Beiber can be a hit, why can’t these be? An upbeat and fun song door Gaga, Ke$ha of Katy Perry (although I like her) can be a hit, can be liked and loved door everyone, why can’t these be?

I decided to write about Goodbye Lullaby when I discovered that it hasn’t hit the charts this time. I can’t let her fail. It sucks when you’ve put lots of efforts in something and it does not turns out to be fruitful. People these days got to realize the meaning of true and real music. They need to wake up!

Magica This is what I was trying to point out with my last couple articles. It's like her time is up. Now is the age of Katy Perry and Gaga and all of them. Avril's fans will stay loyal to her, but the rest of the general public won't even notice her or appreciate her talent. It's a shame, yes, but I'm starting to realize that almost all good music goes unrecognized. Like Paramore's Brand New Eyes; sure, it was more successful than GL, but none of the songs were real hits. They weren't played on the radio like the rest of the new music was. And both of Flyleaf's albums are hardly known. The band itself is hardly known, despite being so incredible. And don't even get me started on Evan Taubenfeld's Welcome to the Blacklist Club. So, even though it's hard, Avril fans really do have to accept that she most likely will never be as popular and recognized as she once was. I know she's planning on releasing another upbeat album, but honestly, I think it'll flop just like WTH and Smile did.

123a True. Everything you just wrote is true. I asked my self the same questions, and i got the hurtful truth. Justin Bieber, Kesha, Gaga, and all of the popular artists these days are only famous for their looks. Not music. Tell me one thing why should Gaga be more popular than Avril? No looks, no music, no vocals, what then? Record labels. That's it. They make them popular and all of the real music dies. Life isn't fare. I don't want to go with this qoute in my life. but seems like as much as we try to rise Avril to the top (Example :MMVA) we always get disappointed by more popular "artists" than Avril.

viju I agree with you guys. All of you. I was quite you know affected by GL being a flop. So I decided to write this. Seems like she won't stay popular and all, but I'll always be with her. We will all accompany her and love her till the very end.

A few months ago, I was watching the Grammys (because of Paramore). It's supposed to be about music, right? Wrong. All they did was talk about what everyone was wearing. I don't think they even once mentioned anything music-related. I remember them making a huge deal about the dress Rihanna was wearing, and the fact that Lady Gaga entered in a giant egg. Like honestly, who cares about all that? Even mainstream-crazed people probably want to hear about the music from their favorite mainstream artists. Music is dead. End of story. At least they don't ruin Avril's music by overplaying it.

Because they weren't released as singles. If you want somebody to point your finger at, point it to the record studio that Avril Lavigne is under and their lack of effort in advertising. I think it's unjustified to just blame people for not appreciating an album when many were not even aware of that particular new album (obviously not including fans). I find it funny how some people bash other musicians for being mainstream when they themselves are not that far off from that category. And even if they're mainstream, so what? People enjoy different kind of music. Music doesn't have to have a message. As long as they enjoy it, ok then. Different strokes for different folks. e.g. I don't enjoy Justin Beiber's music and I'm alright with people liking his music. What I find hilarious about some Bieber fans is that some of them take their 'stanning' to a whole new level which is kinda intimidating. Every fandom has its own bunch of crazies. Ngl, WTH grew on me. It's a fun pop song, even though the lyrics ain't my thing. Same with that Smile song. Also, I ain't a Lady Gaga fan but I have to say her vocals are the best when compared to most current pop artists (Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Britney, Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne). Just because she does pop songs doesn't make her vocals~ weak. Another unjustified assumption. Just my twopence.

I think RCA is still pissed at her for refusing to release another fully-upbeat album (a clone of The Best Damn Thing) like they wanted her to, and this is their way of showing it. I've only heard WTH and Smile once on the radio since the release.

rachaelwsz I live in Malaysia, so I don't think there's any point for me to mention which radio station because I don't think you've heard of it. lol. But anyway, yeap, WTH and Smile is on repeat quite frequently at most radio stations here.

Magica Oh, that's probably why they're on so much, lol. She's done quite a bit of promoting in Asia.

aerielcullen I don't get it either. Everybody loves all these people like Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, ect. They seem to love Avril too, but only when she sings certain songs. (Girlfriend, Sk8tr Boi, WTH, ect.) It seems that people nowadays only want to hear songs that they can dance or party too. They like songs by her that are completely meaningless, like WTH, just because they like the beat or the spunk of it. Not saying that I don't like WTH, I'm just making a point. People don't typically pay attention to lyrics or meanings, sure they know the lyrics, but they really don't care about the meaning. Nobody seems to like her slower songs, because they aren't "Radio Type" songs. They are slower and softer, and even though they have really deep meanings nobody likes them. Idunn I read on the internet that "Goodbye Lullaby" was Avrils worst album yet, and it wouldn't give her new fans, but I became her fan after I heard "Goodbye"
