hallo Cymphonique! Tell us about your character on this week’s episode of Big Time Rush!
Cymphonique: Hi! My character’s name is Kat, and she’s the fierce leader of her girl band named Kat’s Crew. Big Time Rush freaks out when Gustavo gives Kat’s Crew their new hit song, “I Know u Know”. They find out Gustavo is planning to sign Kat to his record label, and that’s when Big Time Rush does some crazy things to make Kat’s Crew look bad, which is pretty hard because Kat is so witty herself. The whole episode is hilariously amusing because u get to see both groups battle it out to try to win Gustavo over. The guys against the girls!
Speaking of guys vs. girls, what was it like to work with all four guys? Was it intimidating to go on such guy-dominated set?
Cymphonique: It was a blast working with BTR. u might think it would be intimidating to work on a guy-dominated set, but I felt really comfortable because they were all so sweet and down-to-earth. They’re really funny in person, so they made me laugh a lot, especially when Logan and Kendall would randomly freestyle rap-battle each other. There was never a dull moment. I guess I’m used to that since I’m around my older brothers a lot.
So, who’s the funniest BTR guy, and who messed up their lines the most?
Cymphonique: I don’t think I could choose who’s the funniest out of BTR because they all really had their moments. But, I will admit that their personalities are pretty close to the ones they play on the show. Logan is humorously witty. Carlos is a little wildly funny crazy. Kendall is comical, such a jokester. James is chill, laidback and has funny random comments. I can honestly say that everyone on set was on their A-game. The only time there were really any mess-ups was when Logan and I had some real tongue twisters and had to rap-battle each other one-on-one, which I’m not gonna spoil for u guys.
Can u spill any behind-the-scenes secrets from the episode for our readers?
Cymphonique: The coolest behind-the-scenes experience on BTR was shooting the muziek video scene. We actually shot it outside on a super decked-out stage that was designed to look like an alien planet. The setting was bananas! They went all out on the special effects with pyrotechnics, laser guns and epic spacesuits. u may of may not notice, but during the shoot, it just started pouring rain. We had to dance on stage and it was super slippery but everybody still killed it!
You’ve got your own Nick show, How to Rock Braces and Glasses, coming up later this year. Will u tell us a little about it?
Cymphonique: Yes, I’m really excited for my own toon coming out on Nick! I don’t want to spoil too much, but I’ll give u a sneak peek. It’s basically about this girl who starts off as the most populair girl in school. She’s the queen bee of her clique, who call themselves “perfect” until one dag she gets into a situation that changes everything. She has to wear these new thick Coke-bottle lensed glasses and braces. When she shows up to school with them on, her so-called vrienden treat her differently because she’s no longer “perfect.” That’s when she finds new friends, who aren’t so “popular” but they accept her for who she is. Her new vrienden want her to kom bij their muziek band, but she doesn’t know if she should kom bij because she’s having seconde thoughts about her “perfect” friends. She wants to do the “right” thing but she struggles with what exactly that is. I’m super stoked for it because it not only has comedy, drama, muziek and dance but a great positive message that everyone can relate to. I think most people at one point of another in their life have to wear braces of glasses. And it could be especially challenging when you’re a teenager. It’s just about following your dreams and not being afraid of being your own true self, no matter what other people think. Besides, it’s impossible to please everyone.
