kalik I actually first thought that Parker was the gravedigger too, mainly because he did blame Booth for him being 'dead' or him leaving him for dead or anything... but yeah XD I dont know xP I also just think that woman was just a righthand inside person or something s: Also because, whoa what a strong woman it has to be, dragging Booth out of a window, into a car or something and put him in the toy submarine thingie, I mean I don't think a woman alone could've done that, and also not what happened to Hodgins and Brennan... she had to drag them both back into the car and how the hell did she bury them WITH the car? There's just too many questions still...

pippin The gravedigger storyline does feel unfinished. I have trouble believing that woman could accomplish all the things she did without help. 190 pounds of dead weight Booth would not be easy to drag out a window, into a vehicle, out to a submarine, and all the way to the bottom of the sub, then up and into a tiny yellow submarine. She did look kind of manly though. It just seemed rush. They could definitely continue the storyline of the gravedigger and make it plausible if they want to. An accomplice would make sense. As for Teddy. He was definitely a hallucination (or a ghost, I guess). He hadn't aged at all in the time since he died and when Booth saw him. Booth was drugged and was in an extremely stressful situation. It isn't far fetched to think he might hallucinate and have enough adrenaline pumping through him to do all those things to get himself out of that submarine. Remember, way back in season 1 in Man in the Fallout Shelter, Booth was the only person affected by the drug that they all were given. He was seeing sparklies and definitely had a giddy high. So, for him to have a hallucination as a result of the drugs and stress makes since to me. Also, with the anniversary of Teddy's death nearing, Teddy was probably already on Booth's mind which is probably why Teddy was Booth's hallucination. Teddy brought forth the memories of his death and the guilt Booth still carried and forced Booth to remember that he gave Teddy the order to stay down but he didn't listen; Teddy's death was not Booth's fault. Booth needed to realize that just as much as he needed to realize that he is not his father. And I liked that Brennan saw Teddy at the end. I hope they bring it up in the future to see what she and Booth make of her seeing a ghost.

Phenny Oh my God! What a theory!!! You know, I do have doubts about that agent being the GD. And it felt unfinished to me, too! I mean, she is a woman! She cannot possibly have done all these kidnaps by herself! I still believe that Thomas Vega has to do with everything... What if he was the GD and that agent was the partner, and they had a fight and I dont know.... Vega looked at her weird when she introduced herself at the very beginning... Anyway, for me she couldn't have been the GD, at least not the only one. I think the GD is still out there and maybe we haven't seen the last of this story yet! (I'm thinking the same about Gormagon. Both stories are unfinished for me) About the other thing... Well, I dont believe in ghosts... On the other, I love conspiracy theories! But on this case, both theories seem unbelievable to me. By both I mean Parker being a ghost or hallucination and the second, Parker being the GD... Even if he was alive he wouldnt do this to Booth! He wouldnt kidnap him or his loving ones, he wouldnt want to put him through this mess and hurt him, only to tell him that it wasn't his fault that he died... If he was a ghost, I dont have any explanation on this as myself never have seen a ghost... I have the weirdest hallucinations when I have fever, but ghosts?... No, not yet... I do know people who claim the have seen ghosts... I really dont know what to think about Parkers presence... Was he unconcious? No, he couldn't have been... Then what? ... I'm confused... But you do all should remember that even if we dont see somthing, it doesnt mean that it doesnt exists...

spinelli I know it doesn't sound believable, Parker being the GD. But him being a ghost, and in the end talking to Brennan, like he was a real person, I dunno, it doesn't fit. For me, that guy was real. Really, don't forget the physical stuff he did! I mean, opening the hatch? And Booth even touched him and got dirt in his hand (when they were passing through the 1st door upstairs in the yellow submarine room). Why would the writers drop such subtle hints all along? If they wanted it to be an hallucination, they should've tried to make it sound a lil bit more surreal, than really making him help booth in impossible physical situations. Remember in Fire in The Ice, when booth was hallucinating? All his hallucination did was giving him verbal advice, he didn't exactly touch him or opened hatches for him.

Jeffersonian I don't agree because if Parker was alive he would have died when the ship blew up, which he appeared to Brennan after the ship exploded. Although I do believe the lady was only the gravedigger's partner I mean could she carry Booth even with him being unconcius, but Teddy appeared kind of small in stature so eventhough I respect your theory I don't believe he was the Gravedigger. One more thing is why would the Gravedigger do everything to help one of his victim's escape, so while I do believe the Gravedigger is yet to be caught I do not believe there is any posibility that he is Teddy Parker.

pippin I don't think the hockey player in Fire in the Ice was a hallucination, but more like a dream. Booth was knocked unconscious and in that state, his subconscious pointed him in the right direction by way of a hockey player he idolized. He already knew the answer in the back of his mind.

spinelli True, Parker being the Gravedigger would require a lot of explanation. I guess I connected him the most to the GD because for me he'd be a real person on the episode.

spinelli Still, you can't deny he did stuff that seems impossible for a hallucination to do. When they both were trying to run away from the room filled with water, when they were upstairs trying to open the door, Parker went into the water downstairs and brought up the thing that helped them break the door open. Just to open that door with the object they used would take more than oen man. Or maybe Booth has an incredibly strenght that goes beyong human power.

alguna I gotta admit that I thought that to....just because... they made him do stuff what ghosts don't do just a little bit too much... But in the end, I gave up this theory. but I also agree, this should be better if more developed like in 2 episodes...

pippin It is impossible for hallucinations to physically do anything. Teddy was Booth's drug induced hallucination and existed in this episode to give us some insight into Booth's psyche. He was a manifestation of Booth's mind. Everything that Teddy did, Booth really did. He swam down to the bottom of the water filled room to come back with whatever was used to open the door, then he opened the door, he picked the lock (remember, we know from Skull in the Sculpture that Booth knows how to pick a lock), he made the mermaid shaped charge (some more showing off of Booth's artistic skills, remember in season three when he made the clay horse), he threw his cocky belt buckle to blow he door.

LordCaedus Heres my theory. There are two Gravediggers 1. was Heather Taffet 2. Is Kate Kuriland the one who they say died in the car crash or the female journalist. After carful thought I have concluded that Taffet could not have worked alone. However the suspect pool is limited and therefore must be one of these two since they were not shown. Also having two would allow the Gravedigger to return and would explain Taffet's unwillingness to speak. She was the master I strongly think she has an accomplice. I really hope that the apprentice comes around and captures someone else continuing the gravedigger legacy. Maybe even break Taffet out of prison. Personally I want to see Taffet on trial in one of the upcoming episodes..... also what the hell happened to poor Jared did he lose his job or not?

Jared's employment status was one. Another was Taffet and a possible accomplice which I would like. A 3rd being Bones seeing Parker's ghost at the end.

pippin Hero in the Hold left tons of questions. Lots of plotholes and things that need explaining. But I agree - I think that there had to be two people. I don't think that Taffet was the mastermind, though. I see her as the accomplice and someone else as Number 1.

My_Rob Forgive me for necro-commenting long after this has been cleared up but I'm a late comer to the Bones fandom. This theory was very ill conceived. The inconsistencies are numerous and question whether the theorist actually paid attention to the episode. It doesn't add up that the Gravedigger would put together such an elaborate trap with a specific purpose then help Booth out of it 'himself'. That specific purpose being to obtain 'his' case evidence which made Brennan the person of interest. Booth was leverage to manipulate her into handing over the evidence so messing with his mind doesn't factor in. It doesn't factor into most cases. It's Brennan's mind, the mind that penetrates through the evidence essentially effortlessly that poses the threat. Booth hardly has any power without her to give him a solid case. Teddy lifted Booth's guilt about his death and requested that he relay to his high school sweetheart that he'd loved her. A serial killer [b]does not[/b] relieve guilt, if anything they play off it and feel none of their own. Regardless because the early victims were children there was never any plausibility that the Gravedigger was a soldier. Those kidnappings were far too intentional to be an unconscious PTSD thing. If Teddy were going to be made a villain, he would have had to be given Broadsky's role. Most significantly, it had been solidly established that Teddy Parker was, in fact, dead as we see a flashback of him taking a bullet to the chest and right at Booth's side. Booth wasn't just told or just saw a corpse, he watched and felt Teddy go. He even directly states when Teddy first shows up in the ship's hold: [i]"You're dead Corporal, [u]I felt your heart stop.[/u]"[/i] That could not have been retconned believably. Even a focused studious amateur would know better than to write such a blunt flashback if they intend to develop it as not being what it seemed. If one doesn't want to believe that Teddy Parker actually was a ghost, the widely accepted alternate explanation for his appearance to Brennan is that it was portrayed from Booth's perspective and Booth had projected the Teddy Parker hallucination onto a random soldier. Although the later development that Booth had had a brain tumor for at least half the season seemed to have indefinitely answered that he'd been hallucinating, later on, it was put to question once more with Brennan's Luc Robitaille similar visits by her dead mother in 'The Shot in the Dark'. Which how blown away Max was by the gift knowledge kind of inarguably proved real. It even seemed to convince Brennan herself, the one who as expected, was least willing to believe in her own experience. After that, I'm pretty convinced that Teddy was a real ghost and had always believed that Robitaille had been a metaphorical revelation. Booth was after all in his element in that case and he did hit his head pretty hard, hard enough to give him a concussion.
