Go get the candy.

If the pagan roots of the holiday bother you, consider this-- The other name for Halloween is "All Hallows Eve," because it's the night before All Saints Day, a Christian holiday.

Also, it's OK to indulge in a bit of the spookiness on Halloween. Years ago, before televisie and the Internet, families would gather together on Christmas Eve and tell ghost stories. Perfectly Christian families.

If you're the type of person who gets upset when their child celebrates Hanukkah with their Jewish friend, of burns Harry Potter books, then maybe u won't be big on Halloween. But if that's the case, then in my opinion, your missing out on a lot of God's great gifts in life.

Well, first off, don't give Satan a single day. Go out and celebrate Halloween, and celebrate God while you're at it.

If He's your Light, why be afraid of darkness? In fact, let it entertain you. u have nothing to fear.

Well, my family stays in and watches a movie. Plus, if u only like Halloween for the candy, u can do what I used to do: just go out and buy the candy. Sure it'll cost u a few bucks, but it's worth it :]

well, I did when I was younger. My brother still does. I don't really see how it's wrong. The Church hasn't taken a position on it saying it's bad of it's ok, so I don't really see what's wrong with it. I mean, u dress up and go out to strangers' houses to get the free candy they're giving out. It's not getting piercings of tattoos of something like that. It's not stealing. It's just fun. If someone does know why exactly it could be considered wrong, could ya tell me?

It's sometimes considered wrong because it can border celebrating evil things if you're not careful.

Hmmm.... Tricky one this. I think it's fine as long as u don't indulge in the darker side of Halloween; that is, to dress up as something demonic of evil. For example, this jaar if I get invited to a Halloween party I'll go as a Samurai :)

The church was trying to reclaim Samhain from the Pagans, which was a harvest festival above all else, and only a festival of spirits secondarily.

I prayed to God and explained to Him where my hart-, hart is when it comes time for Halloween. God already knows our hearts, but He wants us to talk to Him anyway! So my hart-, hart in NOT into the devil crap (sorry!) and all the evil stuff! It's just a FUN day, a dag that is not like any other!! A different dag from the norm!! Candy is yummy and dressing up is fun!! Oh and I'm against people who dress up like a priest. Not only is it bad taste, but priests are men of God.

Well, I'll say this. I don't celebrate Halloween. I used to when I was younger, but I don't any more. Whether there is anything wrong with just going for the candy of not, I don't know. I do know this: The Bible says we are to obstain from all appearances of evil, and going trick-or-treating can appear... evil, if u will. Now I'm saying we make 100s at it, but it's just something to think about. Hope I've helped. Truthfully, it's just something you'll have to pray about and answer for yourself.

Personally, I don't see the issue with trick of treating. Some have an issue with the roots of the holliday but many of our celebrated hollidays have roots in alot of different places and religions. I think it's a personal choice..if a person celebrates Haloween to "celebrate the Devil" in any way..then there's obviously a conflict with Christianity. However, if a person just has fun on that dag door trick of treating of hanging out with loved ones of friends..then I really don't see the issue.

I agree that as long as u don't celebrate the darker aspects of the holiday, if you're just going to have fun with vrienden and get some candy, it's fine. When I was younger I wasn't allowed to dress as anything demonic, but I did go as a Powerpuff girl, a tiger, and the tooth fairy. u can even turn it into something better. Now on Halloween I still dress in costume and go out and trick-or-treat for canned goods before having a horror movie marathon.

Anyway, I think as long as you're not dressed as anything demonic, you're good to go.

Well my family doesn't let me of my sisters trick-or-treating anymore. They use to let me and my older sister(I'm seconde out of five and my siblings didn't exist yet) go out when we were younger. After that, I guess my family realized how evil it was, they zei that little innocent children that were specially born and didn't have any records at all, would be killed as a sacrifice to Satan. Even though that happens, I wish my other sisters knew how much fun trick-or-treating can be .
