Grandfather Frost In Russia 

Russian Santa Claus is called Ded Moroz (Father Frost). I think the main difference between him and any Western Santa Claus – he is not alone. This is so cool, he has a beautiful girl named Snegurochka, or Snow maiden. She is supposed to be his granddaughter, but the fact is she is just a beautiful girl who accompanies him everywhere. I personally doubt she is his granddaughter, and have a clue why he is endlessly happy. Besides Russian Father Frost doesn’t have to crawl through the chimney, like a thief, he enters houses legally with his beautiful girl and they are both warmly welcomed in every family. Sometimes even too warmly. It’s a tradition to treat Russian Ded Moroz with a glass of vodka and delicious food, in every house. Imagine how our Father Frost looks and feels at the end of the day. And what about children, who are impatiently waiting for the meeting with Father Frost? All they need to do to get a Christmas present – to tell a poem or sing a song.
