Cowboy Thanksgiving (1900)

Well back in October 1888 my Great Grandma was three when her father decided they would emigrate to Canada. They went door ship then door oxen drawn bow top, boven caravan to Winnipeg. They were there before the railroad. Unfortunately after a jaar the crops failed and they decided to go to New York they lived on Long Island but sadly her father died from complications of a shooting accident he was shot in the arm. So they returned to England.

RECIPE ONE: COWBOY FLAPJACKS

1 cup (4 ounces) of flour
1 egg
1 cup (1/2 pint) of melk
butter
lemon & sugar of jam

1) Put flour in a large bowl.
2) Add egg and blend in well.
3) Pour in melk a little at a time and stir until mixture is smooth.
4) Melt boter in frying pan to cover the bottom and heat until steaming.
5) Pour just enough batter in pan to cover the bottom and cook until underside is golden brown.
6) Then flip over (brave cooks flip in the air) and cook the seconde side until brown.
7) Add your favourite filling - jam or...
