Chapter Four: Between the words

Marlene woke up at 7:33. She was quite suprised to find herself in the Penguins habitat but she soon realized why was she here: Mort. He was sleeping on the other side of the room, curled up in two, covered with a yellow blanket, sucking his thumb dreamily.
Skipper was already on his feet, walking up and around in the HQ and preparing breakfast. He spotted Marlene observing him and sent her a warm smile.
"How was your sleep, sista?" he talked her down and winked to her.
Marlene blushed slighlty and straightened herself up.
"Very good, thank you" she answered, trying to sound still.
"God, he's got the most beautiful smile ever!" she thought to herself, when covering her sleeping mate with a green bedspread. Then she started to fight with her sleeping bag. Skipper put his catfish coffee aside and waddled up to Marlene:
"Here, let me help you". he mumbled, when kneeling down on the floor and taking the sleeping bag in his own flippers. She loved the way he was dealing with it: his moves were quick and decisive, obviously thanks to his experience he had gained throughout his military days. "Surely he must have had dealt with plenty of sleeping bags at this time" she thought to herself.
"There u go" zei Skipper proudly, handing her the bag.
He got up to his feet and stal a quick glance at Mort, who was stretching himself on his bed and yawning loudly.
"Seems like our little fella has already woke up" he stated.
"Do u think that King Julien regrets his behaviour?" asked Marlene shyly.
"I'd rather he did. He treated Mort badly and made him upset. But we shall see soon, sister. We'll escort Mort back to lemurs habitat right after breakfast.

***
"Say goodbye to Mort, guys. We're taking him back to King Julien's habitat!" zei Marlene three hours later.
"This is for you, Mort" zei Private. He waddled up to Mort and offered him his own drawing, depicting Mort and the rest of the team, watching TV and eating Popcorn. "I've had a really great time with you" he confessed, fixing his eyes on the floor and sniffed loudly.
"There there, Private, it's not like you're not going to see each other ever again!" zei Skipper, patting the youngest pinguïn on the back. "Actually u live across the sidewalk from him".
"Yep, that's right!" added Marlene.
Marlene Mort and Skipper were just about to start climbing up the ladder, when Rico leaped up towards them.
"Arbraghaha!" he exclaimed and regurgitated a big, yellow baloon with a red, smiley face on it. He handed it to Mort and grinned at him.
"Balloon!" cried Mort happily, and clutched the string in his paws tightly.
"See, Mort, it looks exactly the same as the red one from the park!" commentaar gegeven Marlene, when they had finally found themselfs outside penguins Habitat.
They were now moving slowly towards Kings Juliens habitat. Skipper sensed immediately that Mort was becoming meer nad meer stressed.
"No need to worry, Mort. Just stay calm." he said.
"I wonder what King Julien is going to say when he sees him".
"He would do well if he behaved calm. I'm going to give him a little talk as soon as we get there" mumbled Skipper. He felt Mort's paws squeezing his flippers tightly.

***

"Wow, it's one of those rare times, when I see King Julien being moved door such a struck of conscience" commentaar gegeven Marlene, glancing back at King Julien craddling Mort in his arms and crying his eyes out.
"He must have been missing him after all" agreed Skipper.
Marlene looked up the sky and gulped. It was all covered with gloomy, grey clouds. She felt the first drop of water on her vacht, bont and shrugged slightly.
"Seems like it's going to rain" she muttered.
Several seconden later the rain increased rapidly.
Skipper pulled out the yellow blanket and wrapped it over Marlene's head.
"I'll escort u back to your habitat" he decided quickly, pulling the rest of the blanket over his own body.
"Thank's Skipper" she whispered gratefully, trying to calm her rapid heartbeat.
They continued their march along the pavement. Each time she felt Skipper's flipper scuffing gently against her own fur, she could feel shivers running up and down her spine. She'd never found herself that close to him before. Not that she didn't enjoy it, of course... But will she be ever able to break the first ice creams? But she was too afraid of commiting an irreversible mistake. Altough she knew that she was completely left alone with him, and that nobody would get the chance to oversee them right now because of the rain.., she couldn't get through it. "But if not now.. then.. when? Ah.. damnit!"
"Skipper..." he whispered, turning her head.
"Marlene.." he zei at the same time, turning his sapphire blue eyes on her.
They both stopped cut and remained silent for a couple of seconds. Marlene saw Skipper's flippers clutching the ribs of the blanket convulsively. She shivered.
"You're cold?" he asked his voice full of concern.
"Naaah, it's nothing!" she smiled, but she kept shivering like crazy.
She gazed. Skipper moved his head slightly forwards; his beak was now only several inches away from her face.
There was a loud BANG.
Both Skipper and Marlene turned their heads back in astonishment, just to investigate the cause of the noise.
It was Frankie the Pigeon: he accidentaly crashed against the boom trunk, his grey feathers floating languildly up in the air.
He let out a painful groan and collapsed on the ground.
Skipper and Marlene exchanged looks and rushed up towards the boom to check on Frankie the Pigeon's condition.
"Frank! Speak to me man!" cried Skipper, anxiety and concern written all over his face.
"Sorry, guys.." mumbled the pigeon, eyeing the pair with his rufeul eyes. "Seems like I've exaggerated this time"..
"Exaggerated? With what?" asked Marlene, leaning against him.
"There was a couple of cups with unfinished drinks on the table.. u know.. went to that openair restaurant again.. t'was tasty.. really really tasty..."
"Don't tell me you.. oh my God, Skipper is he drunk?"
"I'm afraid it's affirmative, sister" mumbled Skipper, taking Frankie's wing into his flipper and checking his pulse. "I guess we should take care of the poor thing".
"You two make an incredibly cute pair, u know that?" mumbled Frankie. "Seems like I've accidentaly disturbed u in something, ey..?" He lifted his head up and gave them a goofy smile.
There was a long, uncomfortable pause.
"Teheheh, I knew that..." giggled Frankie the Pigeon: he then banged his head back against the ground and passed out.

A sunny dag without training... We don’t know why Skipper let us do anything we want on this day. After our hard secret missions, we really need a holiday.
Scene 1 –HQ
Kowalski is in his lab, he trying to invent new inventions. Rico is watching TV. Private is reading lunacorns magazine.
Skipper: Boys, come here. We are going to get some snow cones. (Looking around) Where is Kowalski?
Private: He is in lab.
Me (Tressa): He invents new inventions that something turns into robot.
Rico: Uhh?
Me (Tressa): It’s not dangerous.
Skipper: Really?
Tressa: And… I must do something. Can I stay at HQ?...

"Nice shot Rico!" Private was skating around, watching Rico's target practice on the ninja pins. Rico beamed, and fired another shot, knocking the head clean off the pin. When Private applauded again, Rico smiled, but then frowned and held a flipper to his lips.
"What is it, Rico? Do u hear something?" Private whispered. Rico started nodding, and looked around, as to see where the noise was coming from. They started following it, but their zoek was immediately interrupted door a shout. CRASH!!
"Rico, what do u think that...

Rico and Private had been following the chrome kreeft for 6 hours now, it was getting fairly boring. Private was trying new tricks on his skates, while Rico was exploding random trees.
Rico accidentally hit a gas tank, and made an explosion so loud, the aftershock blew them down. "Woah!" Private exclaimed, "That was awesome! Do it again!" So Rico looked around for another gas tank, found one, and made another giant explosion. They cheered and yelled, then Rico put the raket launcher back down his throat, thinking he had done enough damage for...

To start this off, let me note that I'm one of the rare skilene-haters on fanpop. I have my reasons for why I don't like it though.
One, Marlene's always annoyed me. She disagrees with almost everything Skipper says, thinks, does.
She's a skeptic of his almost always accurate paranoia.
She always complains about the penguins never knocking. When did she ever knock before coming into their HQ?
Her attitude is almost always sarcastic. Sarcastic people, I'm sorry, I don't hang around them too long.

Their differences: There are many.
Please, please, PLEASE don't leave a commentaar telling me that two ppl...

Private and Rico arrive at the door to the hq, and tentatively open it up. When they do, they find a gaping hole in the ceiling, and Skipper and Kowalski gone.
When Private sees this, his mind goes crazy with thoughts. "H- how- how did this happen? Where are Kowalski and Skipper? Why would they come here? Could the badgers have done this? Wha-" He turns around to talk to Rico, and finds him watching tv, the dumb animal channel. "RICO!! How could u be watching the telly at a time like this?!"
    "Huh?" Rico zei stupidly. He...

Okay, this is my first ever attempt at a fanfic, so don't hate me if it's horrible!

"What's the hold up Kowalski?" whined Skipper
"Calm down Skipper, I'm just about done," Kowalski explained, "Once I turn this knob and twist this bolt... There, all finished!"
"Aces! Now I can finally get that knot out of my back..." Skipper sighed. "These constant battles with Blowhole aren't good on the nerves."
Blowhole had attempted to capture them the dag before, like he had every dag for a week, and the continual...

"Skipper, haven't we heard this code before? 'Take me out to the ball game?'"
"I believe you're right, Kowalski. A couple months ago, when Marlene had that roommate, I think I remember hearing that exact phrase."
    "So u think Rhonda's returned?"
"I'm afraid so. And if Rhonda's returned, that must mean that Blowhole is after us again. That Blowhole never rests, does he?"
"Shouldn't we go inform Private and Rico?"
"I don't think we have time for that!"
    "What do u mean we-"
"DUCK!" Skipper yelled as a giant chrome kreeft crashed through the roof. They slide out of the way, and escape through the back door into the sewer. Then they climb up to the ladder and go out into the park, veilig from the danger, for now.
    "Skipper..." Started Kowalski.
    "Yes?"
    "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!?"
"I believe Blowhole has made a bit of an advancement on chrome claw. A deadly one, I might add."

Though I love and respect his character, Kowalski is not hard for me to figure out. I know what he'll do when gegeven the scenario at hand in the episode and how he'll react. Though he does deliever the occasional surprise, he isn't complexed in the sense of being complicated. His scientific mind is definately unfathomable, when it comes to thinking about how rational he is and yet how silly he acts sometimes. It's a good combination and carries Kowalski's personality. I would like a few meer twist though. It would pack meer of a stempel, punch with Kowalski and give meer FanFiction material for him....

Skipper is my favoriete character and the one many people say I'm like. I like being compared to Skipper, but I've found that his character is pretty easy to figure out as well. It makes a large variety of possiblities when he's the leader but his reactions are a bit alike at times. Skipper is not very complexed-which is okay- but it will 'cause a lot of writer's block when it comes to his starring role in an episode. He has a lot of potential now, but what of his future in the show? I hope that they've planned Skipper out, at least for awhile, so that they won't find themselves in a rut. Skipper...
