OK, I know u guys are thinking: "What?! How dare you! Bella and Edward's love is the best and most romantic love of all times!111Elevntyone!!!1" And then, you're going to say I'm just some guy who hasn't read the books. I'm not. I'm a teenage girl, and I have read all the books. Even Bree Tanner and that bit of Midnight Sun on Meyer's website.

I'll just discuss the reasons why it's not true love.

Physical Attraction
...And meer of it.
Picture this. Our great female lead is in an average high-school cafetaria, surrounded door average, high school kids. It's noisy and loud, and she wishes she was...

This artikel is an appeal to all Twilight fans out there, I invite u all to think over your good and bad actions here on fanpop and contemplate them.

I have seen and compared examples of the appearances of the fandoms Harry Potter and respectively Twilight when criticism appear in each other’s sites on fanpop and I am astounded door the comparatively aggressive tone the Twilight fans carried when they respond to the zei criticism.

Compare the responses of: link

And: link ;

Notes are to be made that both internet addresses were found door searching...

I don't like Twilight. I find the characters shallow; the plot boring and cliche; and the hidden messages frightening. But in the hands of another auteur - someone who wouldn't let their religious upbringing, their misogynistic views, and their twisted romantic ideals colour the story - it could have been really fantastic.

First off, the grammar would have to be fixed. The purple prose minimised and the globaal, algemene writing polished up.

Next the characters would have to be made realistic, their actions have an effect on the plot, and their history an effect on them.

Take Rosalie, for example. If Rosalie's...

Number 1: Someone tells u of he admits that he has hit women in the past. He has talked about his killing sprees, he has killed another woman (Yes, she is a vampire. Who cares?) in front of her. Check!

Number 2: He refers to all women he has dated in the past with derogatory terms. He may also refer to his mother using such terms as well. Not sure about checking this one of not. He says she is the first one he dated, but then he talks of Tanya,...

Dear Ms. Meyer,

Hi. I’m Tria. It’s nice to meet you. As u have probably guessed, I am writing to u concerning your series known as “The Twilight Saga.” If you’ll forgive me for being rude, I’d like to be blunt.

You fail.

Again, apologies for my rudeness. If you’ll allow me, I’m going to back up this assumption of your literary failure.

Let’s start with the plots, looking at each book individually, and then the boeken as a whole.
Twilight: Barely has a plot. The book is 300 of so pages of nothing happening besides mooning on about Edward and his eyes. Then u throw in three...

It's called "Daughter of Darkness" door V.C. Andrews.

This book was just aweful. It's about a 17 jaar old vampire girl named Lorelie Patio (Mary Sue alert!) whos only purpose in life is to be her Daddy's sex slave. This book is filled with shallow evaluations of beauty, anti feminism, poor morals, and disgusting turn of events.

Lorelie has three sisters who are manipulated and emotionally abused door their father. The worst thing about it is that it's never seen as a bad thing. It's disguised as fatherly love. None of the characters recognize the manipulation of abuse. u have to read between the...

{edited, added some stuff, just an informal consideration of a few of the arguments that support the accusation}

"Bella zwaan-, zwaan is a sociopath."

It’s an extreme statement, to be sure. However, it’s not one to be dismissed offhand, without consideration towards its arguments.

First, here are a couple definitions of the term sociopath.
-Random House Dictionary:
a person, as a psychopathic personality, whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility of social conscience.
-American Heritage Dictionary of Cultural Literacy:
Someone whose social behavior is extremely abnormal....

1. In Twilight, the "romance" as they call it is just there from the beginning. In Percy Jackson and the Olympians (We'll call it PJO), the Percy-Annabeth relationship was apparent from the start, but built up until the kiss in Battle of The Labryrinth and eventually their relationship began in The Last Olympian.
2. In Battle Of The Labryrinth, Percy ran into Greek mythology's equivilent to vampires: the empousai. These were ugly creatures who had flaming hair, one goat leg, one metal leg, fangs, were deadly poisonous, and usually disguised themselves as mean cheerleaders. In Twilight, the...

Analyzing the Twilight Phenomena

First off, I’d like to mention that I am not a psychologist. Everything u read is just my own analyzing and since I am interested in Psychology and Behaviorism I decided to make an artikel of what I think is the basic reason for Twilight’s enormous popularity. I hope u will enjoy it.

Recently I came across a post at the forums that zei about Twilight: ” [it’s] a bit childish to say its a failure, because if it is, then why do so many people (And not just crazy teenage girls either) love Twilight huh?”.

I have seen this argument countless of times...

Q: What to Edward and a Christmas boom have in common?
A: Their balls are for decoration.

Bella: You're pale white and ice cold...I know what u are.
Edward: Say it. Say it!
Bella: Vanilla Ice Cream!

Edward: Bella...
Bella: Yes?
Edward: I just want to know how much u mean to me.
Bella: Aaw...
Edward: u know, what with me being an ancient VIRGIN vampire and everything...
Bella: Yeah?
Edward: Well, people were starting to think I was, y'know-
Bella: Gay?
Edward: ...
Edward: Old fashioned.
Bella: ...
Bella: Oh.

Q: How do u kill a brain?
A: Put it in the same room with Ms Meyer and her boeken and wait for two minutes.

Q: What did bella say when the shops ran low off the glitter?
A: yeeew!!! Edward u suck!!!!
- Yes i know this is extremely late but i just remebered what i was going to write :)

I was brought with my mam and sister to new moon on the 20th of November. Personally i was'nt really bothered about going of not so i went so at least i would be able to say what i think about it.
The movie started at 7 and and at 6:20 there was at least 60 people waiting in the cinema most of them girls from the ages of about 10 to 55 many people at the back of the line were pushing to the front without mercy, squishing the others.
(Oh i must remind ye that i live in ireland and at the moment only girls from...

Preface:
I have read all boeken and seen the movies.
Most importantly, the fact that it’s fantasy doesn’t excuse the themes and messages in the book. Fiction is merely a vehicle humans developed to communicate important lessons, values and philosophies. I am not claiming any of the implications I discuss were intentional on SMeyer’s part. Whether of not the auteur of readers are aware of it, though, the Twilight series communicates dangerous messages about what is acceptable of admirable of desirable.
Also, I highly recommend link. It’s long, but fascinating and deeper than the boeken themselves....

Hi there! This is my first artikel on the C.A.T spot, about my least favoriete character in twilight. Actually, my least favoriete character in history.

Bella Swan.

I seriously can't see why so many twilight fans like her. She is zei to be selfless, caring, understanding, and a good role model...when really she's the most selfish character in the whole book series.
Now then, here are several reasons why I dislike Bella.

1) Lack outside of Edward

Has Bella -even once- mentioned in any of the novels what she wanst to do with her life? (Besides wanting to be a vampire to be with Edward forever) Not...

OK, this is my very first artikel - I have never written an artikel for Fanpop before. It's a poor excuse if this turns out to be the poorest artikel ever submitted, but I'm going to use it anyway... please go easy on me xD. This is LONG, so beer with me, I appreciate it!

I have been wondering for some time now about Bella's vulnerability, state of mind, and globaal, algemene mental well-being. New Moon, in the beginning, was my favourite book of the series, for two reasons: Jacob Black was instantly likeable and interesting, winning the titel of my favourite character, but also the black hole that Bella...

We have a discussion on the forums here about noteworthy things in twilight. I picked Angela, and now I realize that Jessica is noteworthy, too.

We'll start with Jessica!Hate. Besides Lauren, Jessica is probably the most hated human friend that Bella has. Reasons Twilighters give for this are 'Jessica is a brat', 'she ignores her in book two', 'she's too hyper', and 'i just don't like her'. Some of those are just ridiculous. 'Jessica is a brat'. How? How is Jessica a brat? Answer: She isn't. 'she ignores bella in book two' I'll elaborate on this one later, because it's pretty big. 'shes...

This is a short little rant, people.

I don't know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when people spell my name wrong.

On Fanpop, I've gotten ranrea, renre, renray, ranraa, and many others. In real life, I've gotten Reagan, Regon, Regen, Reagen.... and people are always misspelling my last name (I'm not displaying that here.)

One thing I've noticed on Fanpop (and many other fansites, as well) is that people often fail to spell Stephenie Meyer's name right. That's right: StephEnie, with an E right there. Not an 'a'. An 'e'.

Some people have completely butchered Meyer's name. Stephanie,...

Okay, i decided to write a critical analysis of a character from the twilight series. My first choice would have been to do one on Bella Swan, but there is already a whole spot dedicated to that, so i decided on my seconde choice: Edward Cullen. So I hauled out all my Twilight boeken and combed through them, analyzing and taking notes. Please leave a commentaar on my critical analysis telling me what u think, what u agree on and what u disagree on. Please no nasty comments. Enjoy!

Okay, number one...one of the reasons Twilight is so dramatic and sometimes just plain depressing is because...

She's made another hart-, hart her home[Bella choosing Edward]
Lost between the sea and the sky
An angel learning how to fly[i think this is how Bella is learning to adjust to her new vampire-self of Jacob learning to cope with the situation]

She floats above our bodies asleep in their graves
Dancing in the moonlight glow[i feel like this is Bella once Jacob is dead. Shes like dancing because she is content with her life?]

The Harry Potter vs Twilight war is a huge phenomenon in the literary world. We have artikels floating around in the Internet (even in CAT) where both camps vehemently defend their fandoms. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, but today, I am not going to take sides. How it started, and how it evolved in a full-scale clash between fans of both series is something I would cover in this article.

It started off with a few websites claiming Twilight is the new Harry Potter. Harry Potter fans, of course, would not take it sitting down, and they wrote artikels with reasons why Harry Potter is better than...
