This is kind of an anti-Stelena article, but I didn't know where else to put it and it does regard Damon/Elena so..

Plec explained, “I would say that if Stefan is going to learn anything from this experience it’s that I don’t know that he can return to who he was. Because who he was was not actually a true representation of who he is.”

This is from a recent interview of JPs. As she said, the Stefan that we've been seeing for the past two seasons was NOT the real Stefan. That also means that what we've been seeing of Stefans relationship with Elena has been faked. Now, I know a LOT of us called this and has been interpreting this exactly this way the whole time but it's nice to have confirmation.

Elena to Stefan: 'I won't love a ghost for the rest of my life'

But wouldn't she be doing exactly that, if she was to get back with Stefan? Elena fell in love with everything that Stefan faked himself to be. THAT is who Elena wants to be with when she was fighting for Stefan. If she got back with Stefan she'd be with an empty shell of what she used to love. When Stefan and Elena do get back together after the compulsion is broken and everything is zei and done, Elena is going to be in this relationship, trying painfully to make it work and be happy once again. She'll be unhappy, but she'll think she owes it herself to at least try and make it work.

The bottom line is: Stefan and Elena's relationship wasn't even real in the first two seasons! ALL OF IT WAS FAKE.

Damon and Elena met when he was at his worst, but he never hid who he was. He actually preferred it to be out in the open. Everything between Damon and Elena has been real for these past 2 seasons. Every moment, and every word. Elena loves Damon for everything he is, faults and all. Elena loves Stefan for everything he isn't

bdavis98 spfuuydelena thank u so much for stating the facets i agree with everything that u wrot it's so true stefan alwyas hide from elena who he really is he never really trusted her enough to shar with her who he really is and that's y i will never ship stelena or even like stefan. the worst thing a person could ever do is act nice alll the time and be this picture perfect by doing that u r lieying to everyone u care about damon was honest with her about what/who is he never hide from her what he is capable of and what he will do to the people who cross him and more importantly what he will do for the people he loves. my point is the worst thing is to act like a nice guy then he tuns out to be the real jeark(stefan) and the best thing is the one who acts like a jeark turns br the nice guy (damon)

JerseyGirlBritt Couldn't be more true. When I read Julie's comment on how the Stefan we've seen wasn't who he really is, my jaw dropped. I can't believe she admitted that. I guess it goes to show she really was staying neutral this whole time. She supported Stelena when they had their time and now she's changing her tune. I very much agree on the comparison with Delena and Stelena. With Stefan, Elena fell in love with a ruse that is now gone. She always knew Damon and was able to stick with him (and fall for him) despite everything. I gotta say, one of my good friends ships Stelena and likes Stefan, and she hasn't gotten to this point yet in the show. I remember how she didn't like it the first time Stefan wigged out from the bloodlust in late season one. I can only imagine her reaction when she sees all this, lol.

ILoveYouDelena You couldn’t have said it better. If Elena goes back to Stefan, it would basically mean she will be going back to a “ghost”. Stefan wasn’t real with her in the beginning. What makes anyone think he will be real with her now? If he loves her as much as he says he did, he would have shown his real side since the beginning. On the other hand Damon has shown his true side since the beginning. Damon already showed his vampire side in season 1. How much of a badass he was and never hid it from Elena. What I love most is that now we are getting to see Damon’s true side as a human. We are getting to see his humanity. DE is EPIC and no other ship is ever going to get that title. As for the writers I say that deep down they ship DE in a secretive way. Why go to so much trouble of saying in interviews that it will always be SE when in reality the build up and chemistry goes best to DE. We have the best scenes, chemistry, build up, and most of all the best LOVE STORY.

Delenafan2 Awesome article and great points. That is something that even Julie Plec feels that Stefan and Elena's relationship was never real. Very telling.

eve_k Great article,all your points are true!!And that is why they have to get back together for Elena to realise that she fell in love with someone else,to see that this relationship is not making her happy any more...I hope this will happen soon,in order for her to make the other choice,the right one,Damon!!!They will have a REAL relationship,with all their cards open!!

Okay, I'm sick and tired of people saying we ship DE cuz "ian is hot!" WTF!!!!! I'm not even gonna bother writing the reasons why I ship them cuz it'll be like the 9987657384950482th time i say them. People need to get a life. If we ship Delena because Ian is hot then why don't we ship "Bamon of "Stelena (i think Paul is incredibly HOTT)???huh?? It really hurts my feelingS when people say this, do they really think we are that shallow?? We ship DE cuz of the right reasons.

Reason 1. Damon is played door the most beautiful guy ever(Ian Somerhalder), and no matter what they say he is hundred times better looking than Stefan its just a fact.

Reason 2. Elena is played door a one of the most beautiful girls(Nina Dobrev)

Reason 3. There both brunette and tall and both are extremely hot and that makes them look amazing together.
