How do u make a crossover video? meer importantly, how to take the clips fromt the movie?

Alrighty this will take a lot of explaining. This is just how I do it, others may do it differently. Basically what I have is Youtube Downloader. Download that, and from there u go onto Youtube, and download clips from whatever movie u want them from. Example: I'm making a Ariel and Jim video, I download youtube videos of the TLM video and Treasure Planet. Then depended what computer u have u go on I think it's Movie Maker of something on a Mac and with Windows I use Windows Movie Maker. In order to paste the videos into Windows Movie Maker u have to go back to your Youtube Downloader, click on the tab that says Convert and convert it to a Windows (or Mac I guess) Media Video a WMV file. Then u can copy the videos into Windows Movie Maker and there should be a button that says spleet, split meaning u spleet, split the video at the clip u want and spleet, split it once meer where u want the clip to end. From there u can put the clips into a timeline and create a crossover video. Sorry if this was long and confusing, any vraag just ask :)
