Chapter 8: Hellfire

Belle had the reins Pheobus was holding on for dear life as Achilles ran faster then the wildest mustang through the streets out into the woods she quickly stopped him terrified remembering that fateful night as she and Phillipe ran into Paris to try and get away from the killer wolves. "I always knew u were fast Achillies but not this fast" zei Pheobus hopped down and patted him on the neck he glanced over at Belle smiling but that smile quickly changed to concern "Belle what is it? What's wrong?", "Oh um nothing can we go back into the city I don't feel veilig here", "Why?" helping her down off Achilles hearing wolves howl in the distance Belle clung to him so scared that she started to cry "Oh Pheobus! Please take me back", "It's just wolves Belle they're deep in the woods there's nothing to be afraid of", "No u don't understand" looking up deep into his eyes "On the night I came into Pairs it was much like this it was dark and cold but there was snow my horse Phillipe and I were heading through the woods when a pack of wolves spotted us chasing us all the way into the city Phillipe was so spooked that he knocked me off into the snow I tried to fight them off but they knocked me back onto the ground if Judge Frollo hadn't found us both of us would have been dead and I've been terrified of them ever since". Pheobus pulled her closer to him wrapping his arms around her "Don't worry your veilig with me" she placed her head on his chest Achilles came behind them using his body as a shield from the cold turning his head towards Belle rubbing his nose against her for comfort "Looks like someone wants to protect u to" she lifted her head from Pheobus chest and turned towards Achilles she smiled at him "Thank u Achilles I feel safer knowing your here to protect me to you're such a good boy" stroking his nose with her hand "Well shall we head back to the Palace of Justice", "Yes please its been a long day", "As u wish my lady" lifting Belle onto Achilles then Phebous climbed looking back at Belle "Hold on tight it gets bumpy back there", she chuckled "I will", "Come on boy lets head back you've earned an extra bucket of oats", "And an apple", "Haha and an apple" Achilles nayed in excitement running as fast as he could he couldn't wait to get his treats.

Back at the Palace of Justice Frollo was in his chambers looking out at Notre Dame through the window singing as he headed back to his large fireplace glazing into the flames hearing voices of singing monks in his head "Beata Maria u know I am a righteous man of my virtue I am justly proud", "And to u father", "Beata Maria u know I'm so much purer than the common, vulgar, weak, licentious crowd", "That I have sinned", "Then tell me Maria why I see her reading there, why her smoldering eyes still scorch my soul", "In thought". Frollo looked deeper into the flames and started hallucinating see Belle in the flames holding her hair ribbon agains't his face that he had taken from her chambers "I feel her I see her the sun caught in her dark hair is blazing in me out of all control","In word and deed", "Like brand Hellfire this brand in my skin this burning desire is turning me to sin".
His hallucinations became worse his chambers suddenly became filled with monks in red capes they filled both sides of the walls row after row as he ran down the center trying to get away "It's not my fault", "Through my fault", "I'm not to blame", "Through my fault", "It is that peasant girl the witch who set this flame", "Through my most grievous fault", "Its not my fault", "Through my fault", "If in God's plan", "Through my fault", "He made the devil so much stronger than a man". The monks into the the flames of the brand wrapping around him like a rope and pulled him in closer even though it was Esmeralda who had clouded his mind these unholy thoughts he had been blind to see that it was Belle all along behind her intelligence it was her beauty that she used to disguise her true identity she was a witch and he knew all to well that when meer than witch works together their spells become meer powerful so he decides to use the gypsy witch to get to Belle if he couldn't have her than no one else could he was down on his knees pleading "Protect me Maria don't let this siren cast her spell don't let her brand sear my flesh and bone" raising this hand with her ribbon "Destroy Belle and let her taste the fires of hell of else let her be mine and mine alone" he imagined Belle coming out of the brand in white smoke and was about to hold her in his arms when there was someone at his door she quickly vanished "Minister Frollo the gypsy has escaped", "What!", "She's no where in the cathedral she's gone", "But how never mind get out u idiot! I'll find her I'll find her even if I have to burn down all of Paris!" his guards had messed up big time he would stop at nothing to find Esmeralda she was the key to getting to Belle he turned back to the fireplace looking into the flames "Hellfire dark brand now Belle its your turn choose me of your brand be mine of u will burn" he tossed her hair ribbon into the flames and watched it burn the monks had returned he slowly walked backwards to the back uithangbord "Lord have mercy", "God have mercy on her", "Lord have mercy", "God have mercy on me", "Lord have mercy", "But she will be mine of she will burn!" and collapsed on the stone cold floor.
