Okay. Hello, it’s me providing random thoughts as usual. I’m not sure my ramblings are worth reading, but I offer them up, anyway.

Today’s topic is a whole mish-mash. I will be telling u indirectly which films I like (of the Disney Princess cohort) along with some others that aren’t strictly princess films (Disney canon). I’ll make it simple for everyone, though. It will be favoriete villains, favoriete random hot guys, favoriete random cool gals, favoriete random singers and voice actors/actresses that carried the movie, without whom it would have flopped entirely as an idea, and whose voices seem to still be effortless 25 years, 10 years, 8 years, etc., of so after release. I’ll also be naming my favoriete DP couples and Disney couples in general, so please indulge me. I don’t like making everything about the Disney Princess lineup. So while this artikel will cover some/most of the DPs, it stands to reason that this artikel will mention other people who clearly aren’t a Disney princess. My hope is that this will still fit under the “rules of posting an artikel in this club,” right?

Let me talk Secondary Cast ( Disney) and their voices/acting. Some films have the enduring qualities they have BECAUSE of the wonderful voice acting of their secondary characters.
My favorieten for all time are: Mushu, Cri-kee, Khan, Fa Zhou, Grandmother Fa, Ling, Yao, Chien-Po, Li Shang, Chi Fu, Shan-Yu, and The Emperor (from____ movie). I’ll take Sebastian, Scuttle, Flounder, Max, Ursula, and Eric ( from ____ movie). I’m also partial to Pascal who isn’t a frog, Maximus the horse Cop, Eugene the not-so-self-assured-nor-suave thief, Mother Gothel, and the thugs, and the goons (from____ movie). Next, I like Elinor, Fergus, the witch, and the triplets (from____ movie). Then I like Meeko, Flit, Percy, Grandmother Willow, and John Smith (from___ movie). volgende are Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Wardrobe, Philippe, Maurice, LeFou, and Gaston (from ____ movie). After them, follow Pain, Panic, Pegasus, Philoctetes, Megara, and Hades (from ____movie). I also like Djali, Esmeralda, Captain Phoebus, the gargoyles, Clopin, and Frollo (from ___ movie). I like Genie, Abu, Magic Carpet, Iago, and Jafar (from ____ movie). I like Tantor and Terk; I really, really love Kala; I like Kerchak, and I like Jane (from ____ movie). I also like Ray, Louis, Dr. Facilier, and the clueless and bubbly charlotte (from ___ movie). No one mentions them at all, but I like Sally, Lock, Shock, Barrel, and Zero (from ___ movie). I like Cruella (from____ movie). I like Timon, Pumbaa, Shenzi, Banzai, Ed, Rafiki, and Scar (from____ movie). I like Jaques, Gus-Gus, the other mice, Fairy Godmother, and Lady Tremaine (from___ movie). I really have always loved Merryweather, Maleficent, and I like Fuana, and Flora to a degree, and to a smaller extent Phillip (from___ movie). I like all the dwarves, the woodland creatures, and the doves (from____ movie). I only like Olaf (from___ movie).

These are not listed in a particular order, save some grouping. But in my opinion, the best speaking voices belong to:
Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts), Soon- Tek Oh (Fa Zhou), June Foray (Grandmother Fa), Eddie Murphy (Mushu), Ming-Na Wen (Mulan), Pat Morita ( The Emperor), Samuel E. Wright (Sebastian), Jodi Benson (Ariel), Buddy Hackett (Scuttle), Jason Marin (Flounder), Pat Caroll (Ursula), Christopher Daniel Barnes (Eric), Mandy Moore ( Rapunzel), Zachary Levi (Flynn/Eugene), Donna Murphy (Mother Gothel), Kelly MacDonald (Merida), Emma Thompson ( Elinor), Bill Connolly (Fergus), Julie Walters ( The Witch), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), Mel Gibson (John Smith), Linda Hunt (Grandmother Willow), Jerry Orbach (Lumiere), David Ogden Stiers (Cogsworth), Bradley Pierce (Chip), Rex Everhart (Maurice), Richard White (Gaston), Jo Anna Worley (Wardrobe), Paige O-Hara (Belle), Danny DeVito (Philoctetes), Tate Donovan (Hercules), Susan Egan (Megara), James Woods (Hades), Bobcat Goldthwait ( Pain), Matt Frewer (Panic), Tom Hulce (Quasimodo), Esmeralda ( Demi Moore), Kevin Kline (Captain Phoebus), Tony vlaamse gaai, jay (Frollo), Paul Kandel (Clopin), Robin Williams (Genie of the Lamp), Gilbert Gottfried ( Iago), Jonathan Freeman (Jafar), Tony Goldwyn ( Tarzan), Glenn Close (Kala), Rosie O’Donnell (Terk), Wayne Knight (Tantor), Lance Henriksen (Kerchak), Minnie Driver (Jane), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Jim Cummings (Ray), Keith David (Dr. Facilier), Michael-Leon Wooley (Louis), Jennifer Cody (Charlotte), Chris Sarandon/Danny Elfman (Jack Skellington), Catherine O’Hara (Sally/ Shock), Paul Reubens (Lock), Danny Elfman (Barrel), Betty Lou Gerson (Cruella de Vil), Jeremy Irons (Scar), Nathan Lane (Timon), Ernie Sabella (Pumbaa), Robert Guillaume (Rafiki), Whoopi Goldberg (Shenzi), Cheech Marin (Banzai), Jim Cummings, again (Ed), James McDonald (Jaques/Gus-Gus/Bruno), Verna Felton (Fairy Godmother), Ilene Woods ( Cinderella), Eleanor Audley (Lady Tremaine/Maleficent), Barbara Luddy ( Merryweather), and Josh Gad (Olaf).

Cough, cough. That’s a long list. And I did not even mention the voice acting I LOVE outside of Disney movies. Sigh. Anyhow, we’ll verplaats on to the best females’ category. Based on continuous watching of Disney movies, I find these leading ladies are the most proactive in their plotlines, and therefore they are the most entertaining to watch:
Esmeralda, Megara, Mulan, Ariel, Rapunzel, Merida, Pocahontas, Belle, Tiana, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Snow White*

*I’m not including Aurora, because she was mostly sidelined door the powers that be (no fault of hers). I’m not including Anna, because she makes a lot of foolish decisions. I’m not including Elsa, because she should have been a whole lot meer responsible. Elsa is meer cowardly than even Snow White, after recent re-watching of the 1937 movie.

Erm. Now the Disney-based “Random Hot Guys.” In my opinion they are: Eric, Eugene, Hercules, Shang, John Smith, Tarzan, and Phoebus. I found all the rest to be varied shades of meh.
Best Villains in my favorieten order: Ursula, Hades, Frollo, Shan-Yu, Cruella, Gaston, Lady Tremaine, Maleficent, Scar, Jafar, Dr. Facilier, and Evil Queen from 1937 Snow White.

*Hans needs to be escorted out the door. He was the worst-written villain I’ve ever seen Disney produce.

In my opinion, the best singing voices belong to:

Angela Lansbury (Yes, she leads this!! Her voice just makes u want to curl up beside her and listen to her sing), Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas’s serene, soaring, and elegant pipes), Heidi Mollenhauer (Esmeralda’s haunting and achingly pretty voice), Susan Egan (Megara’s witty, sweet, and full-sounding voice), Lea Salonga ( Mulan/Jasmine’s unpretentious, raw, and beautiful melodies), Jodi Benson (Ariel’s indisputably lovely voice is remembered to this day), Samuel E. Wright ( Sebastian’s fun-loving and cautionary voice with the reggae tinge), Ilene Woods ( the absolutely stunning voice of a singing Cinderella), Pat Caroll ( Ursula’s full-bodied, larger than life, no holds barred pipes), Mandy Moore ( Rapunzel’s not over-sung melodies bring sunshine to one’s ears), Donna Murphy ( Mother Gothel’s appropriately coddling and serrated singing voice), Paige O’Hara ( Belle’s demure and softly singing voice), Anika Noni Rose ( Tiana’s belting, full-powered, and rich voice), Tony vlaamse gaai, jay (Frollo’s dastardly good sounding and especially evil singing voice is spine-tingling), Paul Kandel ( Clopin. Can this guy sing??? Man, can he sing, and he can cause me to pomp my fist like a maniac!!!! He makes the entire opening of the Hunchback possible!!!!), Tom Hulce ( Quasimodo’s sweetly melancholy voice), Jim Cummings ( Ray; the male voice counterpart to Angela Lansbury’s; his voice makes u just want to sit down and listen to him), Roger Bart ( the aching voice of a young Hercules trying to realize self-actualization), Donny Osmond ( Yes, we’ll get down to business behind Shang’s sexy voice), Zachary Levi (Eugene’s sweet timber, not over-sung, the perfect pitch to Rapunzel’s), Phil Collins (Tarzan’s singing voice manages to be both manly and tender-sounding), Mel Gibson (John Smith’s singing voice; who knew Mel could sing? He’s an actor/producer, not a singer door trade, but he does extremely well, and the effect is sweet opposite Judy Kuhn’s voice), Jeremy Irons ( Scar’s voice sealed this movie for me, because it’s the perfect inflection of deviousness), Robin Williams ( Genie’s impeccably timed, jovial, wisecracking, and thoroughly enjoyable singing voice), Jonathan Freeman (Jafar’s carrying, soaring, malicious voice), and Josh Gad (Olaf’s charming, giggly singing voice).

I know I’m leaving out some people. Mainly Kristen Bell, and Idina Menzel from the late Frozen. I liked Kristen’s singing voice, finding it sweet and peppy, but the “gassy” and “pop reference” lyrics made me feel like the songs were duds. Her voice was wasted there. Idina Menzel has performed really well in other Broadway shows, and her voice is unique, but Elsa wasn’t her best showing. I know that there is a lot of love surrounding Idina’s voice and her singing, but (to me) she just isn’t as sweet sounding as Heidi Mollenhauer, nor does she have the vocal range of Judy Kuhn.

Couples. I knew I was forgetting something. Blech. I’ll try to do this quickly and inpakken, wrap it up.

My favorieten are:

Esmeralda and Phoebus (They both are observant, care for the people around them, have tremendous integrity, and sacrifice their lives to save others. How they manage to meet and fall in love is just a pleasure to watch).

Ariel and Eric (Aside from the fact that both of them are baby-faces, and just good-looking together, they are both sacrificial. They manage (between them) to save others’ lives from drowning, from being blown to bits, from being eaten door humans of sharks, and from remaining a polyp. Mistakes are indeed made, but they stop evil from running rampant).

Megara and Hercules (Initially, Megara is reticent and aloof/cold around the advances Hercules shows her. Meg is cold, because she fell really hard for a guy once, and was so desperate to keep him from harm, that she made a devil’s bargain. The guy Meg loved got the better end of the stick, while she became trapped with Hades. Hercules shows her that he is genuinely a straight arrow, and can be trusted. The love and betrayal of trust is quite affecting in this movie, proving that this movie is not at all just a piece of fluff. And at the end, I could not help thinking that Hercules deserved her, and Meg deserved him. Nice touch).

Rapunzel and Eugene (A relationship begins out of an inconvenience for him, and a life goal for her. The interaction between these two shy people, who gradually reveal themselves to one another, is one of the best written Disney plotlines bar none. I just fell for both of them. Was that wrong?)

Mulan and Shang (Well, two warriors getting together isn’t a bad thing, is it? I mean, they are both clever and intrepid. They care about others. If they make a promise to someone, they honor their word no matter what the cost. Both of them possess indomitable spirit. I just plain admire both of them).

Pocahontas and John Smith (Is this surprising? No, not really. They are complete strangers, culturally, and racially. They manage to find common ground because of shared wanderlust and curiosity. These two appreciate and care for the world around them, and they are brave enough to stand up for what they believe in, even if it means stepping into the fray and averting war. They both deem it necessary to sacrifice their lives to keep the peace. Good for them).

Jane and Tarzan (I don’t know. We have another set of perfect strangers, here. The scene where Jane is trying to communicate, and instead, frightens the bird away is cute; Tarzan taking her door the hand and bringing her up to where all the birds are is…just magical. It’s pure, it’s kind, and it’s the beginning of a wonderful relationship. They’re cute as a couple, and I always was fond of them).

Sally and Jack Skellington ( Besides the fact that this movie made me laugh a lot, there was the fact that Jack showed Sally A LOT of respect. If you’re female, respect is hard to get from a guy. u really have to be yourself, so that the self-confidence u exude commands respect. Sally does this. And Jack acknowledges her. Sweet).

All right, now. That’s it for this much too long set of lists, and the naming of random stuff when I should have kept quiet. C’est la vie.
If anything interesting speaks to you, mention it below.
u all have a pleasant day!
1. Congratulations on winning fan of the Month! How does it feel?
Really wonderful! I'm a bit surprised since my activity has been spotty recently, but I'm so happy to have been nominated. :) Many thanks to all who voted for me!

2. Where did your gebruikersnaam come from?
My real name is Joan, and Joan of Arc was also known as the Maid of Orleans because she lifted the siege on Orleans during the 100 Years War, so I thought it would be a fun historical nod to my real name.

3. Which Disney Princess movie did u love the most growing up?
The Little Mermaid! I wanted to be Ariel. I used to wander around...
