I've seen these artikels around and I got the urge to do one myself. They seem so fun! And of course I'll give u the linken so u can enjoy the muziek and maybe even get down with your funky self. ANYWAY before I get too crazy let's hit the music!
Snow White - Love Story
door Taylor Swift
One song, I have but one song, one song that is perfect for Snow White. Not to diss my beloved Snow White, but I usually associate her with the classic love story, singing about a prince and how he'll carry her away and though her motives aren't always because of her prince ideal I feel that she always keeps that as her most important goal in the movie. So of course she would be most inclined to sing this song.
"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes.'"
Those lyrics mostly describes her love life, but as far as her personality goes, I would say ANOTHER Taylor snel, swift song is in order. The most recently populair one and other artikels (hint, hint) have made me consider it's lyrics meer thoroughly. Snow White is probably one of the mentally tough princesses, I would argue even meer so than Cinderella, so perhaps the toughest. She doesn't let things get to her and when they do she sings a song and... shakes it off.
"But I keep cruising
Can't stop, won't stop moving
It's like I got this music
In my mind, saying it's gonna be alright
Cause the players gonna play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate
Baby I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake
Shake it off"
When she's in the middle of the forest crying she just figures that the evil queen is going to chase, chase, chase and the forest has a scary face, face, face, but baby she's just going to sing, sing, sing, she sings it off. She says, "When rain drops come tumbling there's no use in grumbling, remember you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine." She's a boss, she keeps cruising. "I'm sure I'll get along somehow..." corresponds with "In my mind, saying, it's going to be alright." At least to me. I couldn't actually choose between which two to put in, so why not both?
Honorable mention: I'm So Fancy
door Todrick Hall
"First things first, I am the fairest.
Birds chirping, because they know I am the heiress.
And I am still in the royal business.
I can hold it down,
With my rabbits, crows and pigeons.
I am so fancy.
u can call me Snow,
They all know my name.
From Arendelle to Tokyo.
I am so fancy,
Twirling n this cloak
Doing my thing watch me go oh oh oh oh"
It's a parody specifically catered to Snow White so of course that describes her perfectly. It's a full story that some may find funny and some not so much, but here's the link if u want to see he whole thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVRy7v0Cigo
Cinderella - Started From the Bottom
door mannetjeseend, drake
Come on? u can't tell me that this is not the most famous Cinderella story door far. Cinderella works and works all dag long at the bottom and then bibidi bobidi boo she's at the top.
"I done kept it real from the jump
Living at my mama's house we'd argue every morning
****, I was trying to get it on my own"
I would post meer of the lyrics, but they'd be full of ****(stars). Anyway Cinderella works her butt off everyday despite her abusive mother and keeps so much courage and faith. Of course all that hard work has to earn her something. She's eventually in the palace living that good life. Originally I was going to put down another "Prince charming and princess" type song, but Cinderella has too much swagger for that.
Aurora - Fairytale
door Milky Chance
This is a very Indie song and it describes Aurora perfectly, at least to me. Most of her fans would probably argue that she's meer than just the perfect fairytale, but really besides sweet and believable I think her personality is mostly associated with her movie-- often looked at as the perfect fairytale. This song for the most part I think describes how Phillip views/thinks about Aurora.
"You are a fairy-tale
Don't u wanna stay?
u are a fairy-tale
I hope that u don't run away"
Of course there is meer to the song than just that, but I'd hate to spoil it for you. u are a fairytale corresponds with how Phillip aantal keer bekeken Aurora and how Aurora is viewed generally speaking. She sweet and nice and makes u want to run away with her, as is addressed in the song. So while I might get hate for saying that, Aurora perfectly embodies the classic fairytale and Indie muziek is what I would mostly associate that with.
Ariel - Can't Be Tamed
door Miley Cyrus
If u ask me there are three people that I compare Ariel to, that being: Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, so I searched through Kesha's muziek and I found some interesting ones about-- interesting things, I went through Ariana's and found some that described Ariel, but nothing that really captured her personality. Went through Miley's most populair and THERE IT WAS, the best song for Ariel I have seen door far; Of course it had to do with a rebellious teenager of else it just wouldn't be like Ariel at all.
"I'll tell ya
I'm not here to sell ya
of tell u to go to hell
(I'm not a brat like that)
I'm like a puzzle
but all of my pieces are jagged
If u can understand this,
we can make some magic,
I'm wrong like that
I wanna fly,
I wanna drive,
I wanna go
I wanna be a part of something I don't know
And if u try to hold me back I might explode
Baby, door now u should know
I can't be tamed"
If that doesn't convince u that this song and Ariel are meant for each other then I don't know what will. "Be apart of some I don't know..." corresponds with Ariel's desire to be part of that world, even though she doesn't know exactly what it's all about, yeah, I don't think I really need to explain this one.
Belle - What Makes u Beautiful
When ever I hear Belle's name I always think of the line in Belle
when the lady says, "Now it's no wonder that her name means beauty, her looks have got no parallel." So what best represents that than a song dedicated to humble beauty, which Belle is (apparently).
"If only u saw what I can see,
You'll understand why I want u so desperately (desperately),
Right now I'm looking at u and I can't believe,
u don't know,
u don't know you're beautiful,
u don't know you're beautiful,
That's what makes u beautiful"
I was considering a bunch for Belle actually, I was thinking of Fancy
door Iggy Azalea, All About That Bass
-- anything really populair about natural beauty and being fancy, because that's how I view Belle. I think that's how most people view Belle and that's why she's so dang popular.
jasmijn - Love Don't Cost a Thing
door Jenifer Lopez
jasmijn is really sassy which is why I was thinking of Sexy, Naughty, B*tchy Me
, but of course that does not do her justice. She has morals and is generally sweet and kind, so what embodies Jasmine's actions? She loves a straat rat and all she really wants is for someone to love her as she is and not care about the money. J-Lo is wholesome yet sassy and chic. It's just too perfect!
''All that matters is
That u treat me right
Give me all the things I need
That money can't buy, yeah
Think u gonna keep me iced, u don't
Think I'm gonna spend your cash, I won't
Even if u were broke
My love don't cost a thing''
I wish I got something touching meer on the 'she can't be bought' aspect, but of course this will do just fine. It covers jasmijn really well and J-Lo is certainly confident with herself in the video as jasmijn is all the time. Plus this song reminds me of the early 2000's and I'm having a nostalgia moment.
Pocahontas - Mirrors
door Justin Timberlake
This is meer so describing Pocahontas and John Smith's relationship than anything, and it does so in a very dramatic and sad way as Pocahontas usually does.
"And I can't help but notice, u reflect in this hart-, hart of mine
If u ever feel alone and the glare makes me hard to find
Just know that I'm always parallel on the other side
Cause with your hand in my hand and a pocket full of soul
I can tell u there's no place we couldn't go
Just put your hand on the glass, I'm trying to pull u through
u just gotta be strong
'Cause I don't wanna lose u now
I'm looking right at the other half of me
The vacancy that sat in my heart
Is a space that now u hold
toon me how to fight for now
And I'll tell you, baby, it was easy,"
It's a little lengthy and overly poetic, but so was Pocahontas
Honorable mention: The One That Got Away
door Katy Perry. She very invested in John Smith, what can I say?
Mulan - Kung Fu Fighting
door Carl Douglas
Ladies and gentlemen I present to u the laziness of not bothering to find an original song that describes Mulan.
Of course I have another. Skyscaper
door Demi Lovato
"Would it make u feel better
To watch me while I bleed?
All my windows still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet
u can take everything I have
u can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper"
This I would say describes a plethora of Disney Princesses, they have that low point where they can't possibly recover from heartache, but yet the rise like a skyscraper. personally I think it describes Cinderella and Mulan the best. I chose this for Mulan specifically, because like Demi Lovato, she has group of people of a society that goes against her and what she's doing; However through determination she reaches her goals and ends up on top.
Tiana - Who Run the World? (Girls)
There are so many that perfectly grasp what exactly Tiana does, but this one line in this song is perfect for Tiana.
"I work my 9 to 5, better cut my check
This goes out to all the women getting it in,
You're on your grind
To other men that respect what I do
Please accept my shine
Boy I know u love it
How we're smart enough to make these millions
Strong enough to beer the children
Then get back to business"
Perfect right? BUT THERE'S MORE. Work B**ch
door Brittney Spears
"Bring it on, ring the alarm
Don't stop now, just be the champion
Work it hard, like it's your profession
Watch out now, cause here it comes
Here comes the smasher, here comes the master
Here comes the big beat, big beat disaster
No time to quit now, just time to get it now"
Enough said. Tiana works her butt off, what other songs are better equipped to be her favorites.
Rapunzel - I'm Walking on Sunshine
Little Miss Perky, she is a ball of happiness and sunshine. We associate her with a sun anyway.
"Now I'm walking on sunshine, whoa
I'm walking on sunshine, whoa
I'm walking on sunshine, whoa
And don't it feel good
Hey, all right now
And don't it feel good
As soon as she steps foot out of her tower she can't stop bouncing around and smiling. This song was made for her! of at least I wish is was.
Merida - Cinderella
door Tata Young
She's the ultimate feminist princess, what better song than a 2000's song? That era just screams feminism and it was in all of the media ESPECIALLY music. Merida doesn't need a man and she's not that classic fairytale so of course she's needs a sassy song touching on just that.
"I don't wanna be like Cinderella
Sitting in a dark old dusty cellar
Waiting for somebody, to come and set me free
I don't wanna be like Snow White waiting
For a handsome prince to come and save me
On a horse of white, unless we're riding side door side
Don't want to depend on no-one else
I'd rather rescue myself...
I can slay, my own dragon
I can dream, my own dreams
My knight in shining armor is me
So I'm gonna set me free"
I hate what they say about Snow and Cindy, but alas this is the train of thought that goes into Merida.
There's also Not Your Cinderella
door Payton Rae which is meer country, if you're into that.
"But I'm not your Cinderella
You're not the one in a million fellas
Slipper ain't gonna fit me
Give my regards to Mr. Disney
Oh, I'm no Sleeping Beauty
One kiss alone won't do it to me
Hate to be the one to tell ya
Oh, but I'm not your Cinderella"
Anna - Happy
door Pharrell Williams
She's a little ball of sunshine, why would this not be her song?
"Because I'm happy
Clap along if u feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if u feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if u know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if u feel like that's what u wanna do."
Of course if I were to dig a littler deeper into her personality, which I often do. I'd probably, meer so, see I song close to For the First Time in Forever (reprise)
where she doesn't want to be alone and welcomes new love, sadly that pop song doesn't exist... yet.
Elsa - Roar
door Katy Perry
I'm basically substituting Let It Go
they both capture Elsa's feelings pretty well even door the end of the film.
"I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boot and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice...
u held me down, but I got up
Get ready 'cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
'Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
'Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar."
Let it go, oh, oh oh... Anyway, yes, this is my pick for Elsa, not too far fetched. They both relate to suppression, motivation then empowerment so they both fit into Elsa's mind frame.
Now excuse me while I listen to both over and over again on repeat.
That's all folks! I hope I got a good mix of genres so everyone has something to listen to. I like keeping my options VAST. So tell me if u like the songs I picked and maybe another song that you'd put for a certain princess. I hope u enjoyed and thanks for reading! :)
