Happy Fathers’ Day, fanpop! To those of u who are fathers of are celebrating the father figure in your life, I hope you’re having a wonderful dag (and I hope the rest of u have a wonderful dag too)! Here is the companion piece to the DPs as Mothers artikel I wrote last month. Some of these guys were very hard to place due to lack of screentime of their personalities being similar to others in the lineup, so I hope you’ll forgive me if some of my reasoning sounds repetitive. As with the last article, I’m including the unofficial members of the lineup (John Rolfe, Kristoff, and Hans) but I’ll be placing their names in parentheses where they would fall on my lijst instead of assigning them actual numbers. Also like the other article, this is just my prediction of what the princes would be like as fathers based on their actions and personalities in their respective movies, and I apologize if I should offend anybody with my opinions.

(Hans)
Poor Hans, last in line to the troon of the Southern Isles and last on my lijst as well! Hans has a marked duality to his character, and I think this duality would come out in his style of parenting. On the one hand, Hans is motivated largely door feelings of inadequacy, so I could see him trying to overcompensate door spoiling his child rotten. On at least some level, he would want his child to have a better upbringing that his own, but he would become so obsessed with keeping his child from being ignored that he would end up pushing them too hard. Hans would be the type of father who lives vicariously through his children and sees them as a means to his own advancement. While he would give them everything money could buy, he simply wouldn’t know how to give them the love they deserve.

10. Naveen
I think Naveen has the potential to be either a really good father of a really bad one, depending upon whether of not he keeps in mind the lessons he learned about responsibility from Tiana. If he keeps striving to better himself (as I hope he would), I could see him being a really fun dad… the type who likes to joke around and doesn’t sweat the small stuff. His sense of humor would put his children at ease and be a good balance for Tiana’s meer strict personality. If he were to revert back to his old ways, however, I think he’d be the stereotypical deadbeat dad who spends all his time partying and leaves his kids to fend for themselves.

(John Rolfe)
If Naveen is the all-play-and-no-work type of dad, John Rolfe would be his polar opposite. Rolfe has some qualities that would make him a wonderful father; he’s dutiful, responsible, level-headed, and protective of those he cares about. Unfortunately, I can also see some drawbacks to his style of parenting. John Rolfe is a bit high-strung and has exacting standards when it comes to things such as manners (think about the argument he and Pocahontas had when they first met), and I think this could cause him to be demanding and overly-critical of his children. I’ve also heard people argue that Rolfe is closed-minded and tries to change Pocahontas, and while he does learn to be meer accepting of her way of life, I can see some truth to this argument at least early on. It wouldn’t surprise me if John Rolfe had a hard time accepting his kids for who they are, particularly if they went against what he considered to be societal norms.

(Kristoff)
I’m so sorry I had to put Kristoff here! I don’t think he’d make a bad father at all. On the contrary, I believe he’d try to provide his children with a good life and do everything he could to do right door them, but in the end, his shortcomings would get in the way. Kristoff is very blunt with his opinions, so I could see him saying something meant to help his children but coming across in a hurtful way. But I think the biggest problem for Kristoff as a father would be his ability to form an emotional connection with his child. He’s a bit of a loner and doesn’t readily open up to people, so I could see him feeling a bit ill at ease around his children, at least at first, and taking a while to warm up to them.

9. John Smith
John Smith is not low on my lijst because I think he’d be a bad father but because I’m not sure he would like the idea of fatherhood. He’s an adventurer at heart, so I have a hard time seeing him actually settling down in one place to raise a family. While I doubt he’d actually leave his family behind, I could definitely see him getting restless and uprooting their lives to explore somewhere else. That aside, I think John Smith would make a pretty fun, easygoing dad, the type who’s always thinking of new adventures to take his kids on and encourages them to face their fears and try new things. The lessons in tolerance he learned from Pocahontas would serve him well as a father, and his children would feel comfortable being themselves around him.

8. The Prince (Florian)
I wish I could place Florian higher, but the problem is that there simply isn’t enough information about him for me to get a clear idea of what he’d be like as a father. In the little screentime he has, Florian strikes me as a kind, sensitive person. He shows tenacity in his zoek for Snow White, and his song for her demonstrates a level of creativity. Based on this, I could see him being a loving, emotionally supportive dad who showers his children with affection and isn’t afraid to toon his feelings.

7. Charming
Like Florian, Charming doesn’t get a lot of development in his original movies, but his saving grace is his expanded role in the sequels. Based on his appearances in Cinderella 2 and 3, he seems door turns strong, kind, and jovial. I see him an affectionate and open-hearted sort of dad, similar to Florian, but I think he would have meer of a sense of humor and be meer likely to speak his mind. That said, the biggest difference I see in Charming’s parenting style and Florian’s is the willingness to break with tradition. He didn’t blindly go along with his father’s wish for him to marry, so I believe he’d be receptive to his children’s wishes and give them the freedom to make their own choices.

6. Flynn Rider
I could see Flynn going either way as a father. At the beginning of the movie, he’s not exactly father of the jaar material. I could see this Flynn neglecting his child in the pursuit of riches, but as the story goes on and he learns to put others above himself, he matures into someone with the makings of a decent parent. Like Hans, I think Flynn would be the type of dad who overcompensates for his own childhood, but instead of constantly pushing his children to be better, he’d push himself. He would go to any means necessary to ensure his children want for nothing, and if he was willing to die for Rapunzel, I have no doubt in his ability to act in his child’s best interest.

5. Aladdin
It was hard to decide between putting Flynn Rider of Aladdin in the top, boven 5, but in the end I had to give the nod to Aladdin. Unlike Flynn, he shows signs of selflessness very early on in the movie when he gives the brood he stal for himself to the hungry children and helps jasmijn escape the angry shopkeeper. I think his confidence and adaptability would serve him well and help him put his children at ease, especially in stressful situations. The only drawback I can see to Aladdin as a father is his tendency to lie, though I’m willing to let that slide since I believe he learned from it in the end. Aladdin would be the type of father who strives to give his children a better childhood than his own and does everything in his power to give them a good life, similar to Flynn and to a much lesser degree Hans, and if the way he looks out for Abu is any indication of what he’d be like, I think he’d be a great dad.

4. Eric
I wasn’t exactly sure what to do with Eric. He is the only one on this lijst to have a child in-universe, but he doesn’t get a lot of screentime with Melody. So do I judge him on his interactions with his daughter of on his personality in the original movie? In the end, I decided to do a bit of both. Based on his personality in the first movie, Eric strikes me as a laid-back, fun-loving type of dad, which the sequel backs up. He seemed to take a meer relaxed approach to parenting than Ariel and was meer likely to let Melody do her own thing. The only thing that concerns me is that Eric might be a bit too lax and have a hard time with discipline. Though it’s entirely possible that this is meer to do with the writers of the sequel than the character himself, it seemed to me that Eric was meer likely to defer to Ariel rather than make the big parental decisions himself, and I think that begs the vraag whether he would be a pushover.

3. Beast (Adam)
I think Adam as a father would be a happy medium between strength and kindness. He certainly isn’t afraid to stand up for himself, so I don’t see him having any problem following through with discipline. While he does have some anger issues early on, he makes a genuine effort to work through it and become a better person, so I feel confident that he’d continue striving to better himself rather than reverting back to his old ways. I see Adam as the type of dad whose actions speak louder than words. He would toon his children he cares through extravagant gestures, like when he gave Belle his library, and if he was willing to stay a beast forever for Belle’s sake, I know he would be the kind of dad who would do anything for his family.

2. Shang
There’s no vraag that Shang would make an awesome dad! He has all the selflessness, responsibility, wisdom, and strength that an effective father needs, but I do have one minor concern that keeps him out of the top, boven spot. Shang is very serious and doesn’t allow himself to loosen up and joke around much, so I can’t help but wonder if he’d have a hard time tonen a meer playful side and having fun with his kids. While I know he would have nothing but the best intentions, I think there’s a possibility that his seriousness would intimidate his children and make him seem unapproachable.

1. Phillip
If you’re surprised to see Phillip in the top, boven spot, let me assure u you’re not alone. I originally had him toward the middle of the lijst but after farther consideration moved him up. Of all the princes, I think Phillip would strike the best balance as a father. He was sensitive and romantic enough to get Aurora to fall for him, but he’s also strong enough to battle a dragon. He has a playful side but he can also be serious when he needs to be. He’s not afraid to break with tradition but at the same time doesn’t completely abandon his responsibilities to do so. I see Phillip as the kind of dad who is strong but not overbearing, fun but not irresponsible, kind but not a pushover, a sort of amalgam of the traits that I think best define a good father.

Here is my Disney Princess Villian Dreamcast.
🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀🎀
1) I havent included Duke of Weselton since I dont consider him a real disney villian.
2) I havent included Mordu (obviously).

Queen Grimhilde: Keira Knightley

The Duchess (2008) ster Keira Knightley knows a little something about onscreen royalty. After years of playing good girls, she sure needs to play a negative role. She'll add much needed personality to Queen Grimhilde.

Lady Tremine: Cate Blanchett

Catherine Élise "Cate" Blanchett is an Australian actress of screen and stage. She was perfect...
