I get what this person is saying but in Esmeralda's case, her sexualization (like most of the mature themes in Hunchback) is something that's existed in several adaptations of the story.

And as for Jasmine, just her exposing her midriff isn't being sexualized. (that's the same type of logic and justification sex negative "feminists" and sexual harassers use)

Other than the scene where she's enslaved by the VILLAIN and later seducing him, (a scene most people find empowering on Jasmine's part or is just a thing that happens in the story and not much else) she isn't anymore sexualized than Ariel.

Again, here we have the loud whiny nitpicky minority on the internet taking something that most people find EMPOWERING about Esmeralda and turning it into something "problematic". Sigh.

Look I'm no SJW, but what bugs me the most is how people here continue to refer to WOC as "exotic" which is really problematic. I thought this article was interesting. BTW I am aware of how Disney isn't doing this anymore, but there are people that still have this mindset, in which this article is aimed towards to.

I hate the word exotic as well. But I disagree that only Jasmine and Esmeralda are sexualized because Ariel is just as sexualized in mermaid form. And Pocahontas wears clothes even skimpier than Jasmine's. Also Esmeralda's age is wrong. She is 16 in the book but clearly aged up for the movie. I think the Art of book said she's 21 or something like that.

^uploaded I like it when people describe my beauty as exotic because exotic means unique it does not have to mean only brown women im fairy light skin but my facial feautures etc are a mixture of different ethnicities which means exotic just means rare Megan Fox is white but she can be described as exotic 2

Well, I do believe white = demure, mild mannered and innocent, WOC = sassy, fiesty, fiery and alluring stereotype is a problem.
