Jayden-G picked Pocahontas:
This film has some serious pacing problems, characters that had room for more development, a lot of contrived-mess, and it could not stick with being to serious or childish. A lot of stuff that happens in the film are a bit ridiculous and uncalled for. There are a lot of loopholes, and things that are not explained. There are a lot of wasted potential with this film. Instead of making this film unique, they add other Disney cliches, like adding in a villain that did not need to be there, and have sidekick-itis.

rhythmicmagic picked Brave:
This film doesn't know what it wants to be. There is a serious problem with the whole girl-power message that the men are all portrayed as oafs. The climax is not tense at all. A lot of it is contrived. The need to force in a villain when there was no need for one was simply stupid. I also have many issues with the way Merida is portrayed- she is clearly meant by the filmmakers to be the be-all, end-all, definitive kick-butt girl-power role model, and even though she is whiny and makes mistakes and stuff at the beginning, I don't actually get the feeling that the movie wants us to think these are issues with her character. The first half and second half are only connected by the mother-daughter disagreement issues.

None of the characters in this film are very enjoyable or engaging characters IMO. Cindy and Charming are last place on favorite princess and favorite prince list. And don't even get me started on the mice.....

PociandSmith picked Brave:
Boring story, boring characters, no song, no love interest, if it wasn't a DP movie it would be ok but being part of the DP line up and missing songs and love interest, that's a crime for me. Plus, I was used in better quallity disney pixar movies. I can't even understand how this won the Oscar over Wreck-IT-Ralph, which was original and enjoyable and not a boring copy of many stories. Disney ( pixar ) tried to do a mother-daughter story as many fans wanted to have one, but they failed.

BelleAnastasia picked The Princess and the Frog:
Weak plot, bland characters, unmemorable music... The only good thing about this movie is the amazing animation.

I'm not sure about the plot. I'm not sure there is one.

Swanpride picked Brave:
It's the worst of Pocahontas and the worst of PatF rolled in one movie. It's bland and unfocussed at once, and it doesn't really seem to know what kind of audience it should address.

tiffany88 picked Sleeping Beauty:
This one is pretty weak for me. Plain characters (only the fairies have personalities), the plot line is uninteresting and the animation isn't my favorite either.
My next would be Brave or Snow White.

AudreyFreak picked Brave:
The movie is very confused about itself- it cant decide what genre it is and more importantly, what its theme is. It goes from telling us we should "follow our hearts" to "put others first". It's all very inconsistent and not well thought out.

I agree with PociandSmith, i can't believe it got a Oscar over Wreck-it-Ralph. This movie had bland characters, a weak plot, and the message was inconsistent.

This movie is very weak. No singing, barely any music in general besides the score. I only like/remember about 3 characters in the whole thing. The false advertising was ridiculous. I can't believe it won an Oscar over Wreck-it-Ralph.

3xZ picked Sleeping Beauty:
Among the three classics, this movie is not special at all. It also has "poor performance at the box office" and the result, Disney did not continue making fairy tales. But thanks to The Little Mermaid Disney continued again. :D

As for the plot, the intrigue part is not cool at all, the princess is very seldom and her character is not developed well only pretty, as far as I know, since the fairies dominate a lot through out the movie. Also the animation didn't impressed me.

Swanpride picked Brave:
The "poor performance" was as high as what Cinderella made...it was the COST which made it initially not successful enough, the number of people who watched it was what you can expect in one year (thanks to rereleases and DVD sells the movie actually DID make the cost by now).
Also the reason Disney didn't make fairy tale movies after this was because it was cutting down production costs. They had a lot of animation of animals they could reuse in later movies. Not so much of human characters.
AND while The Little Mermaid can be considered as the movie which started the Disney Renaissance, it's NOT the movie which convinced the executives to leave the animation department open after the catastrophe which was The Black Cauldron. This honour goes to The Great Mousedetective. It pawned the way for the Disney Renaissance, NOT The Little Mermaid, which instead deserves the credit for starting the Disney broadway musical movies.
Sleeping Beauty is a movie which remains influential to this day. In the design of the villains. In the design of a lot of dancing scenes, especially in Beauty and the Beast.
