MaidofOrleans picked Sleeping Beauty:
Fairytale summaries graciously provided by PociandSmith:

link (here there are 10 tales, but only 6 are about Disney Princesses) Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Sleeping Beauty

link Beauty and the Beast, but there are also some of the ones mentioned above

The results for this poll will be based on comments, not the poll itself!

MaidofOrleans picked Sleeping Beauty:
I chose Sleeping Beauty because it's only a tiny sliver of the original fairytale. Of course, there's the tiny detail that she's supposed to get raped and have two children WHILE SHE'S STILL ASLEEP, but then there's also the fact that the prince is already married, and his mother wants to eat Sleeping Beauty's children.

wow, it made it this far? this is S
leeping Beauty (although the latter is much closer to the ballet, which is what they were striving for).

Sorry, battle between Sleeping Beauty and This. Belle had sisters (Random Fact: One of my Fairy Tale books gave them the names Drizella and Anastasia!) brothers, and her father was a rich man who lost his money and his family had to move to the country. After Bell changes Beast back to human someone changes her sisters into stone.

@MaidofOrleans's comment. . .OH MY GOSH! What on earth was Sleeping Beauty about before Disney found it. Ok this is definitely the most different from the original fairy tale if you can even call it that. Oh I can't even imagine all that happening to Aurora. I'm glad Disney got to it and made it what it is today. Much better than the original.

Sleeping Beauty is based on the ballet and Perrault's story, so no, she is not raped in the original.
Either this or Beauty and the Beast. I'm not as familiar with the original Beauty and the Beast however, but I do know that the Beast was very polite in the original (and if I recall correctly, either Beauty and her father were both kept or her father exchanged Beauty for himself.) Snow White was seven in the original and was tricked three times by the queen. Also, the prince didn't kiss her back to life, he just wanted to take her back to the castle in a glass case to be looked at. She was dropped on the way and the apple fell out, brining her back to life.

Well this one is different from the original in a lot of ways. One is that they had no talking objects, no Gaston, and no angry Beast. He was extremely kind to her. Maurice got captured because Belle asked him for a rose, he was rich, had sisters, and had little to no plot.

MaidofOrleans picked Sleeping Beauty:
@rythmicmagic, yes I am aware of the fact that Sleeping Beauty was based off of the ballet and Perrault's story, but this poll is about comparing these movies against the very original versions of the fairytales. If we were comparing them to the stories they are directly based off of, then we would have compared "The Princess and the Frog" to the book "The Frog Princess" by E.D. Baker and we would have compared "Pocahontas" to the legend of Pocahontas. However, that is not what I had in mind for this poll. I wanted to compare them to the first known versions of the fairytales, and I would really like to keep it that way and not change the rules on everybody when we're halfway through the poll.

They dedicated the movie to the "Charles Perrault" version, yet the movie is more towards the "Brothers' Grimm."
