I also can see her as an ESFJ because after her people accept her, she is fine being the centre of their attention. I'm not surprised if in Frozen 2 we will see her being extroverted as in the aftermaths of Frozen. Also she doesn't want to listen to her sister, especially about the frozen kingdom, which is one of the weaknesses of ESFJ. She's quite dominant, another trait of an extroverted and judging person. Unlike ISFJ, ESFJ is not highly supportive, humble or shy, and doesn't prefer to be on the backstage. Plus, unlike ENFJ, Elsa is not eloquent but manipulative.
BTW, Elsa is definitely an F. She is sensitive. Moreover, she acts based on her feelings, not her rationality. All problems are because of she cannot control her emotions, as we can see in FTFTIF reprise and climax scenes.
Extraversion vs Introversion:
Talkative/Outgoing (Extraversion) vs Reserved/Private (Introversion)
Prefer Fast-Paced Environment (Extraversion) vs Slower Pace Environment (Introversion)
Work out ideas with other/Think out loud (Extraversion) vs Think inside head (Introversion)
Enjoy being center of attention (Extraversion) vs Rather observe than be center of attention (Introversion)
Sensing vs Intuition:
Focus on reality of how things are (Sensing) vs Imagine possibilities of how things could be (Intuition)
Looks at concrete facts & details (Sensing) vs Looks at big picture, everything connects (Intuition)
Prefers ideas with practical applications (Sensing) vs Enjoy fantastical ideas for own sake (Intuition)
Describe things specific and literally (Sensing) vs Describe things figurative and poetic (Intuition)
Thinking vs Feeling:
Decide impersonally with logic (Thinking) vs Decide emotionally (selfish or selfless) (Feeling)
Value justice and fairness (Thinking) vs Value harmony and forgiveness (Feeling)
Enjoy finding flaws in argument (Thinking) vs Like to please and point out best in people (Feeling)
Described as reasonable & level-headed (Thinking) vs Described as warm & empathetic (Feeling)
Judging vs Perceiving:
Prefer to have matters settled (Judging) vs Prefer to leave options open (Perceiving)
Rules & deadlines should be respected (Judging) vs Rules & deadlines should be flexible (Perceiving)
Prefer detailed, step by step directions (Judging) vs Prefer to improvise along the way (Perceiving)
Make plans and like to be ready in advance (Judging) vs Spontaneous and welcome new surprises (Perceiving)
I am very shocked that you guys both picked Intuition over Sensing as well as Judging over Perceiving and would love to hear more of your guys' reasons and see the parameters you use so I can better understand? I was confident she's ISTJ.
and she's a sensor, her decisions are based on outside circumstances over some special inner reasoning. - and actually this the root of a lot of the conflict with her sister (who is definitely more of an intuitive type, and insists on things with little to no solid evidence to support her).
Decide impersonally with logic (Thinking) < Decide emotionally (selfish or selfless) (Feeling)
Value justice and fairness (Thinking) > Value harmony and forgiveness (Feeling)
Enjoy finding flaws in argument (Thinking) > Like to please and point out best in people (Feeling)
Described as reasonable & level-headed (Thinking) > Described as warm & empathetic (Feeling)
Or is that not right?
In fact, she is not capable to balance her Ni and her Fe. When she uses Fe, she ignores her dominant function and when she uses Ni, she ignores her auxiliary function, and lives in her " own world". She is also incredibly creative and artistic when she builds her ice castle and makes her ice dress (Ni-Se). Some details of the movie show that she particulary loves purple (and blue, obviously). The meaning of these colors is the perfect desciption of an INFx. At the end of the movie, Elsa is happy to be accepted for who she is. It's also a parallel to her childhood. She sees her power as a gift, who can make others happy, and not a malediction.
So, in conclusion, I would say that Elsa is a INFJ hidden behind an ISTJ mask. INFJ often have "two faces" because of Fe and social expectations.
Si =
Elsa solved problems to do what she had learned: hiding her power and wearing gloves. She think about what is happend in past and act on it.
Te =
Elsa hided her feelings, feels that she had to solved to problem and solve problems quick, without thinking about feelings. (Shooting ice to Anna's heart, sending a monster to get Anna and Kristof away)
Fi =
Elsa is hurt by her feelings and act on them, but can't say easily what she feel (like a Fe user). Elsa isn't a very talkactive person but share her feelings with acting on them.
Ne =
When Elsa sings 'Let it go' she throws her past away and begins a new start.
During" let it go", Elsa shows her true personality: she removes her gloves(like Hans who shows his evil personality when he does the same movement), and tests the part of her power which she can't control but intrigues her in the same time. She discovers what she can do as she realizes it (Ni-Se). She embraces her true nature, and can use her power anytime she wants. Definitely Ni-Fe-Ti-Se for me.
