Definitely time for it too leave. It's not that impressive compared to the other three. The style is normal Disney, and there's only a few scenes that wow me, whereas the other three I'm amazed by the animation during the entire film. Pocahontas's complex color schemes, lush landscapes and gorgeous animation is stunning. Sleeping Beauty's attention to detail, elegance, grace and general appearance of a moving painting is amazing. Tangled is wonderful in the way it fully utilizes CGI in terms of detail, colour and realistic facial expressions and movement. All three films are impressive beyond belief.

I hope this will FINALLY leave this round! It is very sloppy, Belle changes design roughly thirty-eight times, most everything in this movie they had been able to accomplish before. The style is basically your typical Disney animation, Tangled brought a new dimension, style, and a ton of innovative contributions to CGI. Sleeping Beauty had an incredibly creative style, it looked like a painting in motion, as well as astounding attention to detail, it was completely different from anything that had been done at the time or has been done since, it was so angular, but it still somehow managed to look fluid, which must have been difficult with a style like that. Pocahontas had amazing colors, everything about it just pops, there are some incredible landscapes (who cares if that's not what Virginia really looks like?) and the style was a somewhat different turn for Disney. Beauty and the Beast just pales in comparison to these other masterpieces.

Holy crap if people can't even comment why the animation isn't as impressive as others, I'm going to turn this into another comments only count thing. (no offense to KataraLover and Mongoose09 intended in this regard, I'm referring to the people who aren't even bothering too comment)

KataraLover picked Sleeping Beauty:
Mongoose09 yes it does! That's kind of the whole idea behind the concept of opinion, I don't like it because it's not impressive, dully, boring, plain, and even the two princess movies that came before were better than this movie and they didn't have the technology they had during Sleeping Beauty. Get over yourself! I'm allowed to have an opinion and I don't dislike it, just because I say I don't like something doesn't mean I dislike it. In my opinion the animation is forgettable. When I think about absolutely amazing animation or even just good animation in Disney movies or any animated movies Sleeping Beauty doesn't even come to mind for me.

Jayden-G picked Beauty and the Beast:
The animation in Beauty and the Beast does not compare to Pocahontas, Sleeping Beauty and Tangled. Pocahontas realistic animation and vibrant colours and texture is fantastic, Sleeping Beauty has so much detail in the characters, and the backgrounds is spectacular, and the CGI really brought out the animation in Tangled, unlike Chicken Little where it does more harm than good. Belle's animation is not very consistent.

Honestly I would say Pocahontas is the least impressive. Even if it's absolutely beautiful! Because the other movies' strong points surpass Pocahontas' imo. But this is hard since you ask for the most impressive and not my personal favourites.

I think some are picking Tangled for the wrong reasons. I was going to do the same at the beginning but realized it was very impressive, far from being my favourite but still.

@KataraLover: something i've noticed over the years is that you are one of those people that, just because YOU dislike something (character, movie, anything) it is automatically "bad" or "sucks" or is "terrible" or whatever. i'm not just talking about this countdown. you are the most biased person on the planet, i don't think you have EVER looked at anything objectively in your life. wait, do you know what the word "objective" means? i'm not saying you can't choose Sleeping Beauty, but "NOT IMPRESSIVE AT ALL", are you actually saying these words?

oh and, yes i'm bringing this up again because it just proves how absolutely stupid and biased you are. i can't forget that you think Enchanted Christmas has better animation than Sleeping Beauty, lmao that's a huge insult to the people who spent years animating SB. that isn't even an opinion, that's just foolish. just because you prefer the animation in Enchanted Christmas and it's more to your taste (which is fine btw), IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S BETTER, OBJECTIVELY <<<- there's that word again, look it up.

KataraLover picked Sleeping Beauty:
Sorry but Enchanted Christmas has done more to impress me than Sleeping Beauty has ever done. You wouldn't know because you haven't watched the movie entirely. I'm not biased and I'm certainly not stupid. You're acting like an immature little five year old who throws a fit when they can't get their way. Just because I don't like something you like and I list my reasons on why doesn't mean you have to freak out. I can think of several thinks I'm not biased about. Like for example I LOATH Naveen and Giselle but I think they're some of the most attractive animated characters in existence. I like Sleeping Beauty but it's animation isn't part of it, there was a time where I absolutely loved it but I still didn't like the animation, I've never liked it and never will.

Mongoose09 picked Tangled:
^ But just because Enchanted Christmas impresses *you*, it doesn't mean it is "better animated", don't you see? You clearly know nothing about what animators have to do if you truthfully think Enchanted Christmas is better animated than SB (I think even the people who animated EC would laugh at you for saying that!) And with you saying "I didn't like the animation, I've never liked it and never will", I think you're just letting your personal feelings get in the way of looking at it from an objective point of view. Again, it is fine if it's not to your taste, I couldn't care less if you print pictures of Sleeping Beauty, stick it on the wall and throw darts at it but this countdown is not asking for your least favourite animation. Heck, the movie is like a moving painting with so much detail, certainly not plain at all but that's your opinion; animation like that has never been seen before it or after it. How is that not impressive?

Okay, biased might be the wrong word to use, but you still never look at things objectively.

Bearing in mind that SB is hand-drawn. I think people that call this movie "plain" are just looking at it at face value and are not actually paying attention to the incredible amount of detail. There's nothing like it.

I think Pocahontas should've left several rounds ago. I think it has some good scenes but I just think the others are more impressive. Wow I can't believe Tangled has the most votes. Personally I'm not a huge fan of computer animated fims, I mean I prefer hand-drawn movies but I think they did an amazing job with Tangled. Although it's computer animated it still captures the magic of classic Disney fairy tales. The floating lanterns scene is just breathtaking. Rapunzel's hair and they way it moves is simply wonderful. I really think Tangled deserves to be in the top 3.

I find Sleeping Beauty impressive. In fact I believe it should make it to top 2! It's style and the techniques used in the animation are just so creative and revolutionary, I've never seen any other movie like this one. Some of the forest and the castle scenes are absolutely breathtaking! And the characters are so perfectly drawn! Have in mind this was the 1950s - so it took so much time and effort to create them!
As for the Enchanted Christmas - lol! One good second of animation in the movie doesn't compensate 85 minutes of mostly terrible animation!

And as for Tangled - except for the lanterns scene and Punz's hair, I don't find it that impressive. It actually reminds me of Shrek a lot, and Shrek was created 10 years earlier!

^ I agree with you. Sorry for being confrontational in this poll but I'll defend Sleeping Beauty's animation to the death. To me it's just stunningly beautiful.

Seriously, if a person was forced to sit and analyze a set of Sleeping Beauty pictures for an hour, I guarantee the person would not even see everything in the pictures. That's how detailed it is. It's slightly disheartening that people (not just KL) call it plain, because IMO it's the complete opposite.

I think I have said enough about what a piece of art Sleeping Beauty is...hell, I posted pictures to show what I mean. And so far, I don't really see an argument why it should go already with the exception of a vague "it's dark".

To the people who say that the Animation of Tangled is not impressive for 2010 - it absolutely is. And I don't even mean the latern Scene, that's more or less another version of the Ballons in Up. Have you ever seen the movie in HD? Not only does the hair, the water, the textures of the clothes incredible realistic (and no, NO other movies before managed that level of realism....if there had been one, it wouldn't have been necessary to invest a ton of money into a new software just for the stuff), and the details are unbelievable. There are pattern and textures everywhere, and it looks absolute flawless - which is the real mastery in animation, letting look something flawless and easy, when in truth it's very difficult to do.

I normally would put BatB up at the top, too (why is it still here, btw, it has the most comments last round), if not for the fact that the scenes between the "big ones" (which are impressive and a big step forward in animation, no question) are so sloppily animated. Or, perhaps rushed is a better word. It's really frustrating, because the stuff which is good animationwise is really, really groundbreaking good...but when it comes to the care the animators put into this movie, it is the most sloppily animated of all the Disney Princess movies.

Pocahontas is not that groundbreaking compared to the other three of the list, but even though I don't like the movie overall, the animation is perfect and breathtaking at points. The woods in the background are nearly as detailed as the ones in Sleeping Beauty, the style is unique - the only thing I really don't like is the design of Pocahontas herself.

@BA You know there is a reason why you see so many braids in Shrek. Plus, it has a much more sterile look compared to Tangleds more "lush" (I guess the word is as good as any to descripe "not looking like everything is made out of plastic") and way more detailed animation.

Ugh, Tangled animation doesn't impress me. The bubbles look stupid in When Will My Life Begin. Rapunzel's hair is flat! For the scenery, Up is better. For hair, Merida's hair is better!

Swanpride picked Beauty and the Beast:
Yes, but Merida's hair is better because they used the software developed for Tangled. Tangled is the movie which deserves all the credit for everything which was praised animationwise in Brave, and it absolutely kills me that now everyone is praising Brave for it, when Tangled did it first...just take a good look at the movement of Mother Gothel's hair before you praise Merida's curls.

@LR Short hair...that's the technique they developed for Monsters Inc. Long hair is more challenging (you need software which is able to do the math for the movement of every single hair, and with longer and more hair, there is more the computer has to deal with). Show me any character in any Computer animated movie before tangled with long, not braided hair which moves as convincingly as Rapunzels or Mother Gothels. Show me any other movie where you can actually see if the clothes the characters are wearing are made out of something heavy like woll or something lighter.

Life can be so unfair. I had a difficult time choosing ones of these movies. Sleeping Beauty was not an option for me, that's for sure. The animation is stunning! I especially love how the trees in the forest scenes. Simply beautiful! Tangled's animation impressed me also. It looked so realistic! BATB's animation really was lovely, especially during the ballroom scene. As for Pocahontas, I like the animation for it as well, but I just don't find it to be as impressing as the others. The backgrounds, like the forest and such, really were well animated, though.

SwanPride- All I know is there were times in Brave where I found myself just watching Merida's hair and letting myself be amazed by it, and that never happened to me with any character in Tangled. I just looked at some of Mother Knows Best, and I personally think Gothel never came close to Merida. While Tangled definitely deserves credit for developing the software, I definitely think it was implemented better in Brave.
