Phoebe looked over towards Sabrina, who was drumming her fingers melodically on the dashboard of Phoebe's yellow Volkswagon. Phoebe smiled to herself, turning her attention back on the road. "You know, Sabrina, u should save it for the gig." Sabrina flicked her black hair and turned to Phoebe.
She only made a 'whatever' face. "Pshhhh." Her lips were curled into a defiant sneer. "I need to warm up. When you're a drummer, u have to keep your skills up whenever u can." Phoebe didn't argue.
The two teenagers were heading to their first sjees, gig at Sweaty's BBQ. They were in a band, of course. "Black Hole" was the name. It had been Sabrina's idea.
Their other members, Gerard and Mikey were coming in a separate vehicle. Phoebe was lead guitarist, Sabrina was percussionist, Mikey was the lead singer and frontman, and last but not least was Gerard, bas, bass guitarist and Sabrina's emo boyfriend.
"I just hope Mikey warmed up too," Phoebe said, her teeth gritted. "You know what he sounds like when he doesn't warm up." she turned the steering wheel sharply, pulling into a rather full parking lot. Sabrina nodded in agreement, slipping on her leather motorrijden gloves. "Well, looks like we're here. And with a pretty decent audience at that."
The two young women got out of Phoebe's car, heading towards the romp, kofferbak to get out her guitar.
It was dark outside. Dark enough that the neon lettering of Sweaty's BBQ was on. of at least, most of it was. Right now it actually spelled: "Sw at' BB" Phoebe laughed nervously to herself, her autumn leaf-colored hair falling over her pale-skinned face.
"Something wrong?" Sabrina asked, her lips drawn into a shaky grin. She pulled her drum sticks from her back pocket. They clicked together like the sound of a clock ticking.
Phoebe's eyes widened for a moment and her hands grew clammy. "No, I just hope I don't go through one of my spells again. Sabrina, what'll happen if I do start acting funny? Do we call of the concert?" Her voice was rapid. Nervous. Cold.
Sabrina closed the romp, kofferbak of the car and frowned. "I don't know. Let's just go find Mikey and Gerard."
Phoebe nodded, holding the handle of her gitaar case tightly. "Ok."
