Black Pellets
CC climbed down the ladder into the HQ and turned to see the penguins looking expectantly at her and Rune looking rather guilty. The tension in the room was unbearable, CC glanced around nervously. “What were u thinking?” Skipper yelled at her, waving his flippers about angrily. CC tried to answer but Skipper cut her off. “Nah, I don’t wanna hear it sister. Where did they go?” CC thought quickly, “Where did who go?” She replied innocently but Skipper was having none of it. He was clearly not in the mood for negotiating anything, particularly CC’s side of the story. Private stepped forwards to comfort CC, but Skipper pushed him back. “Save it Private, CC is working with the enemy!” He yelled, pointing a flipper to Rico who immediately upchucked a rocket launcher. “Now hold on just a minuut here!” CC zei at last, “Bandit chose to go with Mech-Skipper, I tried to convince her otherwise but she refused! I was trying to help!” Skipper shook his head in despair, denying CC’s excuse. “But the fact u helped that robot is the main crime!” He yelled again, Rune began to cry as everyone argued. CC was about to reply but simply couldn’t think of anything to say, because what Skipper zei was true. She DID help MS, and in doing so, had become the enemy herself. She lowered her head. Skipper, despite his anger, saw CC upset and changed his mind. “Fine, u can stay here” He said. CC suddenly cheered up and hugged Private. “But on one condition” He added. CC looked at him with worry. Whenever Skipper changed his mind, there was always a catch, a condition… And it was always never nice. “You help us track down Bandit” Skipper grabbed a map and handed it to CC who was getting upset again. “Y-you want me to… Betray and track down my friend?” She asked, half-knowing the answer. Skipper shook his head. “It’s not really Bandit we’re after. The robot is the on… err… Thing, we’re after” He corrected her. CC still wasn’t convinced. “But Bandit is the one helping him!” She protested. Rune nodded in agreement, “You won’t hurt Bandit… Will you?” Rune looked up at Skipper, her eyes wide and tearful. Even Skipper, with his experience and tough personality couldn’t resist. “No… We won’t hurt Bandit. I promise” He said, defeated door Rune. Rico moaned and dropped the launcher. “Skipper? How will u find Bandit?” CC asked curiously. Skipper spun around and looked at her, a guilty look spread across his face. “Well… When Bandit first arrived here… I didn’t really trust her” He replied. “I know that, u don’t trust anyone!” CC giggled. “ANYWaaaay… I had Kowalski put together a little device…” He continued but broke off. CC looked at him with worry, “What device? It won’t hurt her will it?” CC panicked but Skipper shook his head. “No, in fact, she HAS the device with her and she doesn’t even know it” He grinned mischievously. “She does? But she didn’t take anything with her…” CC thought, remembering the last moment she saw Bandit leaving. She definitely didn’t see anything. Skipper laughed. “Well u wouldn’t see it. When she first came here, we gave her some fish” Skipper picked up a small black pellet from the table. “I had Kowalski hide one of these in the fish” He grinned smugly, admiring his own brilliance. Kowalski handed the pellet to CC, who began to inspect it. “What is…” She began but Kowalski swiftly butted in, holding another device in his flipper and pointed it at the pellet. The device began to bleep loudly. “A tracking device!?” CC yelled, looking at Skipper in disgust. “Calm down, it was only because we didn’t trust her” He explained but CC wouldn’t listen. “Did you, Did u put one of them in me too? What about Rune!?” CC became hysterical, picking up Rune and backing away from them. “NO NO!” He yelled. “Of course we didn’t put one in u two!”
CC calmed down, but still kept her distance from them. “So… When do we set out?” She asked. Skipper picked up the grenade launcher. “Immediately!”
