i have always breaded my eggplant,chicken,etc. with a mix of egg and melk but a freind told me this is wrong.why?

well if u mix the egg and melk together thats fine,but u dont have to put the egg and melk in seperate bowls,i make it with just egg and brood crumbs it comes out great:)good luck!!
