HBO officially announces Catch the troon Vol. 2 featuring Method Man and Snoop Dogg 

As WatchersOnTheWall first uncovered in December, HBO confirmed today there will be a second edition of the

featuring an exciting gathering of metal and hip-hop artists.

HBO confirms the lineup includes Killswitch Engage, Anthrax and Yandel, and adds Method Man and Snoop Dogg  to the lineup.

Each track will sample music from the season 4 soundtrack. Vol 2. also features an “overarching theme of fire and ice,” according to HBO.

In an official statement released by the network, Snoop Dogg said, “Off the top, I love

– I even gave my expert analysis of this season on my GGN show. It’s like the rap game, it’s gangster, about family, loyalty and trying to get to the top. I had to get involved. Give the fans a little bit of how I see it.”

, we are extremely excited to collaborate on this project. Recording a song about the Lannister family allows us to connect more with our fans and

will be released in March and will once again be free of charge.

The mixtape is produced by Launch Point Records, and will include 15 songs, with a diverse array of artists. In January, Launch Point producer Miles Felix Instagrammed pics of several artists recording the album, including this pic of Wu-tang legend Method Man:

Hopefully these will be better, I wasn’t a fan of last year’s. That’s all I’m gonna say, I know this is a touchy subject

I remember Snoop offering up his expert analysis of Game of Thrones the week after “Mockingbird” aired. It was delightful. If he would like to do weekly recaps of the show during the season, I would have absolutely no objections. Bring in a different guest every week, light up, and go.

I thought Snoop changed his name to Snoop Lion? Did he change it back?

Instead of throwing away the money likethis, HBO should give more money to the show and perhaps we’ll get one more episode, or certain book characters.

Yeah, you’ll notice that I didn’t mention him. He can stick to his ongoing bromance with James Franco. Plenty of other Game of Thrones fans out there for Snoop to discuss the show with.

I don’t think they’re wasting a lot of money, for some of the artists having their name attached to GoT is probably all they want, free publicity.

Yeah,i’m sure the likes of Arianne or the Greyjoys were cut because of a remix album,oh if you don’t sense the obvious sarcasm in my comment that’s on you .

Not my cup of tea, but glad to see GoT keeping its place as pop culture giant.

Game of Thrones’s people have made it very clear they can’t do any more episodes because they don’t have the time to accomplish that and keep up the quality. As it is, GoT is a year-round job for them. Making stuff like the mixtape has absolutely nothing to do with whether we get ten episodes as opposed to 13, or whether or not your fave book characters show up.

Btw GRRM just confirmed that he is still planning on 7 books. See the recent comment in his blog post:

Doesn’t mean much at this point. He still has a lot to write and book 7 is years in the future. We will see what he says in a couple of years.

I like having seven books (or tv series) for seven kingdoms, but if it’s eight or nine in the end then it’s just the Iron Islands and Crownlands to me.

I think D&D could give cogman an extra episode or two and be able to have a longer season. I mean what show has the writers doing 9 episodes a season? True Detective had 8 and thats the only one i can think of.

Writing the scripts is just one part of making the show. What takes the most time is producing it. “A Day in the Life” gave a good idea of what massive effort it takes to get the scripts on the screen.

They’re writing seven episodes out of ten (two for Bryan and one for Dave Hill)

I wonder if the organizers of this mixtape have thought about getting the women of HAIM in on this? If it doesn’t work out, they could always play random Frey granddaughters on the show.
