So, if you know the musical, you know that it's a big love triangle between a pharoh's daughter Amneris (very Quinn -- the popular girl who isn't as perfect on the inside as she is on the outside),, her slave Aida (very Rachel -- a strong leader whose been put in a position where she can't be in control anymore), and Amneris's fiancee Radames (very Finn -- people have high expectations of him, but he has very different dreams). Naturally, the whole situation of the Quinn-Finn-Rachel love triangle reminded me very much of theirs -- where Radames is torn betweeen the girl he's supposed to be marrying and the other woman he's fallen for. Radames's slave is Mereb -- an old friend of Aida's.
Thus, this pick was born as I thought about how well these songs would suit the characters. "Every Story is a Love Story" is just awesome, "Fortune Favors the Brave" is a very masculine song with a big male lead for the boys, "My Strongest Suit" is fun and sooo very Quinn with plenty of back-up for the other girls, "Enchantment Passing Through" is about a love that shouldn't be (so it works for Finn/Rachel or Puck/Quinn), "Not Me" is basically the whole love triangle in a nutshell (and I thought Kurt being the one worried about Finn in love would be amusing), and "Elabotate Lives" is a love song about how love shouldn't be so complicated (perfect for Finn/Rachel, Puck/Rachel, Finn/Quinn, or Puck/Quinn).
EDIT: I just LOVED this one! And it's perfect for Rachel's range.
