Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Vraag

Have any hard-core Harry Potter fans read 'Twilight'?

This vraag is for 'VampiresRevenge', who asked why people ask whether Twilight fans have read HP, and not the other way around. Well, people, here u have it.

Which of u HP freaks have read the 'Twilight' saga? I, for one, have read all four books, and that is where I draw the comparative criticism. Because, u know - this goes for both fans - if u haven't read all the boeken (on both series) then u can't really debate, right? I know a few people have only watched the movies, and just base it off there, but it's not quite the same. (With both series).

Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Antwoorden

ChocAttack266 said:
Yes, I've read all four of the Twilight boeken and also Midnight Sun. Before this year, I didn't want to have much to do with the Twilight series because I thought that the storyline sounded a bit bland - and I also didn't like it replacing Harry Potter. Now that I've read them all, I can feel meer entitled to criticizing specific aspects of the books, and I can also feel downright outrage at them being zei to be better than HP.

So for my answer: I have read the saga (like before anyone else had even heard of it) and that is why I feel justified in my hatred of it.

I'm having a hard time finishing the last book because it's so boring. I really don't care what happens to any of the characters. I wish the book would just end, already! The fact that it's my sister's book doesn't make it any easier. She keeps confiscating it every time she catches me reading it.

Edit: Never mind, I've read it all now. I even started The Short seconde Life of Bree Tanner, but didn't bother finishing it. I've seen the third movie as well.

Honestly I WAS a big fan of Twilight, but not as obsessive like the others I know of. Anyway, the reason why I read Twilight was because I was curious as to why so many girls were reading it. So one day, I was shopping and I bought the first book for my half-sister. Since I was supposed to send the book to her, I was allowed to read the book before giving it to her.

The dag I first read Twilight, I wasn't expecting to be so into it, but I was. I was hooked on it like a drug, reading faster than usual. However, I only read the first two books, almost the third book, and I saw the first movie. It wasn't completely necessary to read the entire saga since I knew what's going to happen.

During the summer, I stop reading for a while, and I ended up realizing that Twilight was the most pathetic boeken I've ever read. Harry Potter made me realize that when I decided to read it for a summer assignment. I got into Harry Potter again and I'm happy that I did.

So in the end, I got rid of the first two Twilight books: the first was send to my half-sister and the seconde was gegeven to my friend ( I just hope they'll realize what they're doing is bad for their health). As for the third book, I still have it, and I'm not planning on reading it further. I just need a way to get rid of it (I wanted to burn it, but I was told no). :(

I also avoided everyone that I was close to who was into Twilight. I never seen New Moon nor will I plan to see it, as well as for the other films to come. I've tried warning people not to read the Twilight saga because of my experience. However, it didn't work. So when it come to debating, I'm really good it whether I know all the information of not.

Look I'm not trying to be mean of start a fight, but sometimes I just so frustrated. So to anyway Twilighters reading this, no offense honestly. I can respect your personal opinions, but u just have to deal with mine.

I read Twilight before it even became this incredibly popular. My friend recomended it to me and I gave it a try. I think I read about the first couple chapters when I gave it back to her.

Since I write my own fanfictions and storys, I became rather annoyed at Meyers writing style and her cliche plot and her characters. Even my sister told me that Twilight was just a rip off of True Blood. It's about a girl and her vampire boyfriend (who doesn't sparkle! :D ), theres a vampire that sees into the future of something like that. (Whatever Alice's ability is) a newly transformed vampire (Jasper) a vampire that hates the human (Rosalie) and a warewolf (Jacob). At least character-wise wasn't very creative. The plot was just awful. A new girl who somehow becomes very populair her first dag and the school hottie who never notices an other girl suddenly sees her and they fall in love! Awwwwwwww- no. it makes me sick to my stomach. -____- I don't mind love storys but that plot is so overused! Twilight should've stayed on fanfiction(dot)net!

So yes, as a hard-core HP fan I have read Twilight, and hated it :D

Now, I Read "Twilight" All The Time! But My Sister Rebekah (the one who brought me 'New Moon') Started Reading Harry Potter! I Decided To Read Them Too!

I'm A Fast Reader! So I Started About Two Weeks geleden (it takes a long time to get the volgende book) And Now I Only Have The Seventh One Left To Read!

u Can Decide If I Read "Harry Potter" of "Twilight" First! It Doesn't Really Matter To Me! I Love Them Both! :)

I've read all seven Harry Potter boeken (I started liking them when I was eleven, I'm now almost twenty), All four Twilight boeken (when they first came out in 2005) and the leaked portion of Midnight Sun. I've seen all the Twilight and Harry Potter films (that have come out, of course).

Sometime I wish I hadn't, but then again, like u said, "if u haven't read all the boeken (on both series) then u can't really debate, right?"

I Don't Fully Agree With That! I Haven't Read The Seventh Harry Potter Yet! But I Can Debate As Well As The Rest! I Like Them Equally!

^There are some things that we can dbate about that u might not know... Like Edward's love VS Snape's love for Lily.

Exactly. u can debate about the series as a whole but like TeamSiriusBlack said, there are some things u can't. Snape's love, the final battle, how the series' ended.

Yes, i Have read all the twilight books, because at one point i was a fan of the series. but when i started hearing that Twilight was being called better then Hp, i re thought how "good" those boeken actually were. Not good enough to be comparing w/ the the hp series.
