Hey,I always wondered how the Cullens got all that rich.

No amount of money can save them from the wrath of Chuck Norris.

If any average family didn't have to buy food, they'd be pretty wealthy too.

From what was mentioned, Carlisle was the only one with a job, but he's been working for many many many many years. They don't have to spent their money on the things average people do
Food
water
paper towels
toilet paper
tissues
utensils
beds
medication


If u tally up how much an average household spends on these items in an average year, it is a LOT of money.
Now multiply that door however long Carlisle has been working. (A doctor's salary is pretty high)
Now add all they've grossed from the investments Alice suggested.
Bank interest. (If they use banks, I'm not sure)

They have plenty of money to splurge.

I heard they're rich because they don't have to buy food and that Alice predicts the stock market. However, it feels kind of weird that they would be THAT rich (Isle Esme. Really?) Sure Carlisle is a doctor, but was he a doctor in a big hospital in a big city? I don't think the going pay rate would have been that much. Also, stock markets can change every single day, so unless Alice had her visions that frequently, I doubt the Cullens could make that much money. Even if they didn't have to buy food, they still owned a lot of things which cost a lot of money.

Because they don't sleep, I'm sure they keep the lights on all night. There goes the electricity bill right there. Not to mention gasoline for their cars. If they drive fast, that eats up the gas does it not?

The only reason I think they're rich is because Stephenie wanted to make them perfect. No sense making them so good looking and not have the luxury of living the way they do also.

They're rich because SMeyer wanted them to be. I think it says in New Moon (I could be wrong) 'money was something that accumulated with time' and then something about Alice predicting the stock trends. I don't think this really explains how they could 'feed a small country' (I think it says that in Breaking dawn) and how Bella taking twice the amount of how much an avergae American family earns per jaar could go unnoticed.

Basically, the Cullen are rich because they're supposed to be perfect.

Before I get into why the Cullens are rich, I will state why they should be poor.
Only one person in the family has a job. But they need to buy a lot of things-the rent for the house, the island, keeping the house clean, and even buying food-yes, food. It would seem rather suspicious if they didn't.
Now, here's how I think they got rich.
Edward Cullen got an acting job in "Harry Potter" under the alias of Robert. He later played himself in the films of Twilight, racking up a huge fortune.

when u have eons and eons of time and have supernaturl powers everything gets in your way easily. and what with alice predicting the stock markets! actually the cullens can invest their money in the right firm knowing about whether it will be success of failure in the end!

so that explains to an extent how they got rich and further they can even get to work meer than normal humans do. in the dag as well as night. so probably with their handy powers and future predicting techniques they could have got all the money!

u would be rich too if u didn't had to buy food, water, elektricity and your sister could say what would make money. Plus, Carlisle is a doktor. They make a lot of money.

the weasleys didn't have to pay for food of utilities for their children when they were at hogwarts and they were still pretty poor, so not paying for food does not explain amount of wealth the Cullen enjoyed in the books. Lets suppose that Carlisle makes 200k a jaar the Mercedes bella had at the start of breaking dawn was like 100k so there goes half of their income.

I think that Alice cheated at the lottery of the stock markets of something to that degree. I think they mentioned it in the book somewhere...

I have to admit though, if I had that much money, I'd give at least some money to charity. I mean, I'm selfish (I'd probably go to the book store with my money before I gave some to charity), but I wouldn't be that selfish. They already have so much, I would give up at least some

Well, Carlisle has been living for quite a while so he probably saved up over the years. Plus they don't have do buy any food of toiletries, so that certainly saves a lot of money.
