Luna first appears in Order of the Phoenix, and is a dreamy, wacky, loony, but also very sweet girl who gets made fun of a lot, but soon becomes sort of awkward vrienden with the gang.
OMG Luna Lovegood is the daughter of Xenophilius Lovegood, she´s a Ravenclaw, very inteligent girl (of course) but people kind´a don´t like her cause she´s weird but she really doesn´t care cause she´s loony (always in moon)she´s a very dreamy girl who believes in legendas and creatures that doesn´t exist even in their world! We just know about her in The Order of The Phoenix but she´s like one of the most important characters in HP and Luna, Neville, Harry, Ron, Hermione & Ginny are GREAT friends, u will understand that when u read the Deathly Hollows...

Luna Lovegood is obviously a student as Hogwarts, daughter of Xenophillis (Spelling) Lovegood who I believe is the editor of The Quibbler? She is an outcast at Hogwarts but she befriends Harry in the fifth book.
Luna Lovegood appears in Order of the Pheonix and helps to try kill Voldemort. She's REAL strange, But she's still one of my fave characters from Harry Potter! (:

Luna first appears in The Order of the Phoenix and she is in Ravenclaw. She is quite strange but she relates with Harry because they both have seen death and can see the Thestrals.
luna is xeno lovegood's daughter he is the owner and editor of the quibbler she is also a member of dumbledores army and enters the story in book 5 as she also can see the thestrals that only harry can see.
luna lovegood is in ginnys jaar but in ravenclaw.she kinda has a connection to harry cause of them both seeing the thestrals together,and it being harrys first time.i think shes funny,cute and wierd!although her character is not the same in the movie as it described in the book.

She is an outcast in school, having no vrienden the first 4 years of her schooling because of her oddness. She is bullied door other students. She becomes a good friend of Harry's in the fifth book. It is she who helps him during times of grief, and though she is rather gullible (she and Hermione don't really like each other at first... she says Hermione is terribly closed minded, while Hermione says she is awfully gullible), she is actually extremely deep. She becomes best vrienden with Neville and Ginny, and the three of them become hugely rebellious in Deathly Hallows, causing much trouble for the Death Eaters who took over the school (until Luna gets kidnapped door them on the train... but u have to read the books. They are amazing. The films leave A LOT out, like u have no idea.) Her father is Xenophilius Lovegood, editor of The Quibbler (a paper that is rumoured to be quite unreliable). Her mother died in an accident, an experiment gone horribly wrong, when Luna was 9 years old. She is my favoriete character in the entire series. :D

Lovegood is a silly little girl who we almost were able to follow into the room of requirement. I still remember her skipping down the hallway oblivious to our presence.
