Alice and Frank Longbottom are the parents of Gryffindor, Neville Longbottom. They were not killed, but they faced a fate worse than death.
Not much is known about the Longbottoms, but they were both Aurors and were members of the Original Order of the Phoenix during the first war. Both Aurors and members of the Order of the Phoenix risked their lives every day. They knew what they were getting themselves into, but they fought fiercely for what they believed in. It takes a strong person to risk their own life. Not many people were in the Original Oder of the Phoenix, probably because they were too afraid. They were not only Order Members, but they were Aurors. Unlike the Order, this was not a secret society. They were openly fighting against Voldemort.
Alice and Frank defied Voldemort three times. Only the best could do that, and they did. They actually survived the First Wizarding War, with a newborn baby boy, Neville Longbottom.
After the First Wizaridng war, however, they were not so lucky. It was thought door the Death Eaters that Alice and Frank knew of the whereabouts of Voldemort. Bellatrix Lestrange and three other Death Eaters used the Cruciatus Curse on them to get them to tell them where he was. Whether Alice and Frank actually knew where Voldemort was, we'll never know. However, they never gave any information away. They were tortured into insanity. They had to stay in St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, permanently, for the rest of their lives. They never got to watch Neville grow up, of to really be parents. They didn't die, but they did
give their lives for the cause. Alice and Frank Longbottom should be remembered for their heroic actions.
I'm sorry, I was asked to write this a while ago. Honestly, I just forgot about it.
