It's obvious that Veela and part Veela have an effect on men around them: making the men act stupidly wanting to impress them. I think there's a slightly subtler effect on women too though. In HBP, Molly and Hermione and Ginny all dislike Fleur. I wonder if that's to do with some sort of rivalry or hatred-inducing effect.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. If a gay woman would react like the men did or if Veela are specific in who they affect?

I think the dislike for Fleur had more to do with her arrogant behaviour.

I personally think that it's not so much 'men' but 'people who are attracted to women' who are affected by the Veela/part Veela and that if you are not attracted to women, they have little effect on you.

I don't think they effect people who like men at all
