Hell you can always introduce intermissions or something. I would have LOVED a comprehensive Goblet of Fire, it's still my favourite book!

the only people who would watch this would be die hard harry potter fans. seeing how they are cutting everything out of two hour films, only die hard harry potter fans understand whats going on, therefore only die hard harry potter fans keep going. i say, GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT!!!

What I don't like about the HP movies is that they can't stand on their own. I know it must be difficult to make a smooth movie adaptation of such a long, detailed book series, which is why the movies shouldn't have started production until JK Rowling had finished writing the series. What the makers of the films need to understand is the movies aren't going to be watched by all HP book-readers. When I saw OOTP in theaters, I sat next to someone who hadn't read the series and asked me questions basically the whole time. When making a movie, you can't assume that people will understand the unexplained or unfinished just because it's answered in the book.

I wouldn't want a ten hour epic - they're not movies, they're just books on screen. It's really important to me that film adaptations of books are smooth and easy to understand for everyone, not just fans of the books. I watched Fellowship of the Ring without reading the books and I loved it and understood every bit of it. I later read the books and walked out of Return of the King still loving the movies, despite cuts and changes. It's sad how the HP filmmakers can't achieve what Peter Jackson and his crew achieved because Harry Potter is such a great series

If someone had not read the book then they would not sit for 10 hours in the cinema....

Keep the facts from the book but also add some spin for the movie...

but people who havent read the books dont want to watch something that confuses the hell out of them for two hours and leave still not knowing whats going on. if they made it twn hours then they probably woudnt show it in theatres anyway.

I would certainly have no problem with a 10-hour harry potter movie, but... i don't think it's a realistic idea. The books are simply not that big. 3 or 4-4,5 hours though, seem a perfect duration time for their adaptation on screen AND bearable to someone who is not a die-hard fan. ;)

dpaisita97 picked To have two parts of the films so u get the whole book in:
A ten hour epic would be AWESOME, but it would be too long and i just love it when they change scenes and add others and take what isn't necessary, but a two part for ALL the books would have been better than two-hour cause they do take out important details that if i hadn't read the books, I might not have understood, so two movies per book would be better

A film series which included all the important story moments (some of them didn't), and also more of the little character moments which book fans missed because they'd been looking forward to seeing them but they were omitted. They should have made the films slightly longer than your average film - about 3 or 3.5 hours, like the LOTR films, with intermissions halfway - to include such moments. Not 10 hours though. That'd be overkill. And I don't think the books actually have enough content to be 10 hours each without making loads of extra stuff up.
