@ginnyweasley8 - she's already eliminated, she was (predictably) one of the first characters to be voted out.

@SherlockStark - we know he died trying to buy Lily and Harry time to escape.... we know he was a member of the Order....

Agree with you @Flickerflame James died while saving Harry and Lily,maybe he was a bully when he was a teenager,but he got older and smarter he had a happy family and he was a good man.

James showed great bravery when he sacrificed his own life UNARMED against the most powerful Wizard in the World in order to save his wife and son. He was also a loyal friend - many people would have shunned Lupin for his 'furry little problem', but James along with the other marauders stuck by him. How are these things not considered good? I think many fans, generally-speaking, have an irrational, somewhat unwarranted hatred for James to the point where they can't see anything but bad in the character. I understand that he was a bully in his youth and his behaviour is rightfully criticised, I don't condone it, but he grew up, he matured. He was clearly a better person in the end. Also, since James is so hated for his bullying ways then I don't understand why Snape is let off for his treatment of some his students - most notably Neville, which was verging on bullying. Having a hard life is no excuse.

The series teaches us that there is shades of grey in everyone (except Voldemort) so it's odd to me that many people seem to view Snape as a saint with no bad qualities and James as the devil incarnate with no good qualities. That just goes against one of the themes of the book. Snape and James are ultimately both good people, in my opinion, but both have their own flaws.

I understand people have different opinions but how James is more hated than the likes of Vernon Dursley, who abused Harry for years and didn't change, is just completely beyond me.
