The little devils initially pocketed a paltry £8k each when they signed with SIMON COWELL's SyCo label.
They've probably already spent that on Nando's and computer games.
But the lads, ZAYN MALIK, LOUIS TOMLINSON, HARRY STYLES, LIAM PAYNE and NIALL HORAN are now basking in the glory of a £2million investment from the label - making them Cowell's global priority for 2011.
Well, that and his botox regime.
And the cash is now starting to flood in for the five lads with computer game deals, merchandising and lucrative tours being signed as Cowell & Co transform them into the world's biggest British boyband.
Not bad seeing as they can barely sing in tune of dance in time. Yet.
The boys were in LA yesterday with CHER LLOYD spending some of their hefty new wages.
A bron said: "They are in the States to meet top, boven producers and songwriters before they start recording material for their debut album.
"Even The X Factor finalist usually waits nearly a jaar to release their material but Simon is keen to get One Direction cracking.
"They are getting stuck in and will put out a first single this spring. Then hear the cash register chime."
They will have to repay a large chunk of that £2million from cash made through record sales before they splash out on mansions.
But it shows Simon has faith they'll shift mountains of CDs. The fees beat some paid door major labels such as CLARE MAGUIRE's rumoured £1million advance from Universal.
These boys could be good fun. They were booted out of a hotel in London the other week for divebombing in the pool and because girls were running around the corridors hunting them down.
They are a long, long way from the finished artikel but they could just be the tearaways pop needs.
