History: Her origins are relatively unknown, but it's likely that the first people to settle in Okinawa were people from Taiwan very early on. After a while, Okinawa became prosperous in trade and had a tributary relationship with China. She didn't like him all that much, but continued to pay tribute to keep her "freedom." She was pretty much under the control of China and Taiwan for a lot of her childhood. She quickly took a liking to Japan, though, and started stalking him. A few years after the Meiji Reform, Japan took control of Okinawa (because his boss forced him to) and she was renamed Ryukyu for a few years before taking on her vorige name again. Sadly for Okinawa, China quickly seized control over her again, although she was still allowed to remain near Japan. Still, control shifted rapidly, and Japan regained Okinawa. Then, after the Battle of Okinawa, America took over Okinawa during WWII for twenty seven years. He quickly gave her back to Japan, though, because she was "Totally freaky, dude!". Now, Japan still has control over Okinawa, even though she scares him to death with her stalkerish nature. Okinawa has a HUGE grudge towards America, for taking her away from Japan for years and for one of his servicemen raping one of her 12-year-old citizens.

Eeyup. She's basically about as scary as Belarus, but not nearly as insane.
