The subject of werewolves is a classic in horror. It has been covered from many angles, some good, some bad, depending on your tastes in horror. straal, ray Garton takes the fur-ball myth in a new direction in these two boeken making the thing that turns a human into a werewolf a kind of STD. Being bit door a furry wont change you. Being shagged door one will. Also gone is the old 'full moon change' business. The wolves in these stories change wherever and whenever they feel like it, and Garten goes into glorious detail at how the sound of cartilage pops and bones snap, fur sprouts and long fangs run with drool and silver eyes glisten and then comes the hunger for fresh blood and the urge for sex.
In Ravenous, we see a small town brought to ruin door just one werewolf. He attacks one woman and from there all hell breaks loose. In spite of being 'mortally' wounded the werewolf gets up off the autopsy tafel, tabel and runs away leaving the local sheriff baffled and one deputy eviscerated. As meer people in town become infected, the pile of bodies starts to stack up. A scarred-up werewolf hunter appears, armed with knowledge of the beasts and silver bullets he sets out with the disbelieving sheriff to bring the howlers to heel, but are they both too late.
This is an enjoyable book with a refreshingly new take on the werewolf myth. It is mature with plenty of gore, violence and sex (including rapes) so maybe not the best for young un's. The writing is tense, the plot taut and the ending unpredictable. A proper old wolves tale.
Bestial takes up from where Ravenous left off. I'm not going to say much about the plot of this book because it would give away the ending of the first. Suffice to say, I thought this was the better of the two novels and if u liked Ravenous you're sure to love this with meer gore, violence, sex, slaughter and a bit of religion thrown in the mix too. We meet some new characters as well as checking up on some ones from the first book. Again is is all extremely well written and highly involving and enjoyable.
These two boeken are pretty cheap and really do deserve to be read door horror fans as they are both excellent additions and imaginative deviations of the werewolf myth. Thank u for reading.

Although this book is somewhat fantastical, it's closeness to reality is all too noticeable and uncomfortable. Do we vraag where meat comes from, how it gets on our own table? Well don't be surprised if,after reading this brilliant, complex, well-written and engaging book, u cannot look at a karbonade, pork chop the same again.
This is an excellent book. The auteur manages to weave numerous characters, scenarios and themes together seamlessly. If u like vampires, werewolves of zombies of just like a good 'end of the world' yarn then you'll find something here to enjoy. The story is subtly underpinned door a religious tone that while being moralistic stays clear of being too preachy as to put the reader off. Add to that moments of sparkling wit and pitch black humour u have yourself a very entertaining and intelligent novel where the twists and turns in the plot flow as freely as the buckets of gore.A brilliant horror novel. Enjoy. Thank u for reading.
