Why when Remy was first hired she was telling everyone to call her 13?

As u may remember, all of the people that were trying for the team had numbers, kind of like in track athletes. So since Remy was number 13, she just wanted to be that and thus proving the other person's point, that she wanted everyone to stay out of her business.

So she could remain anonymous and not really form any bonds with the other 'contestants'...I'm guessing it was a defense mechanism.
