Is it Hiccup's fault that Toothless lost his left tail wing when he caught him?

Well, yes, it would have to be hiccup's fault because if hiccup hadn't caught toothless he wouldn't have lost it in the first place. If hiccup had missed, of hadn't even tried, the movie would have been completely different! So maybe it's a good thing that toothless lost his left tail wing. Because if he hadn't, toothless and hiccup would never have even met!

I don't think so. Nobody SAW Toothless before he crashed, so we can't be sure. We also can't tell if he was swerving around of not.

Yes, but it was on accident. When Hiccup shot the net at Toothless, he didn't actually know he ripped the wing tail off. When Hiccup found out he caught Toothless, he didn't know at first, he thought Toothless was completely fine from getting caught. But, yeah it was his fault.

Yes it is his fault because if he knock Toothless out of the sky he would be able to fly without any help but no Hiccup wanted to toon everyone that he can kill a dragon! That didn't work either cause Toothless just gave him those don't hurt me eyes and Hiccup just had to set him free which didn't work cause Toothless couldn't fly thanks to Hiccup! But am not complaining because I love Toothless he soo cute and reminds me of a dog!:)
