I wrote this about a jaar geleden but wasn't able to post it earlier, it is set after ep. 4x13. Amber is still alive and dating Wilson. House feels alone and so does Cuddy... And they don't like it.

If u like this chapter I'll post meer chapters. The start is a little dark, it will get meer romantic after a few chapters. So there we go...

Chapter 1 : Your sweatpants

She was lying in her bed, eyes wide open, she hadn’t been able to sleep and was getting meer angry door the minute. Everything had just gone wrong today, like in really REALLY wrong. Actually thinking about it, the dag had started almost pleasant…

She had had a meeting with a new donor, who door the end of their meeting donated a huge amount of money to her hospital. After the meeting she bought herself a cappuccino, normally she would drink regular coffee but after this little victory she thought she deserved a cappuccino with extra sugar.

Thinking about that she realized just how much she craved for a good cup of coffee right now. Her body was tired and her muscles were acing, but her mind… was racing. She sat up and turned the lights on for about the seventh time that night. A glance at her clock told her it was 3:18am.

Damn it! Damn that son of a teef and his pathetic attempt at a performance review! She had been in bed thinking about him for over four hours now! She slipped out of her bed, knowing she wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway and the cold air hit her legs immediately.

Getting even meer frustrated because she remembered her heating system was broken and it was freezing outside, she walked to her closet. The heating system just had to break today, like her house didn’t feel cold enough already without the heating shutting down! She cursed while searching her closet for an abandoned pair of sweatpants. After a few minuten she finally found a pair and put them on. They were way to big but really comfortable so she kept them on and walked to the keuken-, keuken to make herself some coffee.

With a cup full of the warm black liquid she walked to the living room, drowning in her own thoughts she didn’t she her suitcase and almost tripped while spilling a little of her coffee on the sweatpants. She felt angry for a seconde but the anger quickly replaced itself with defeat. A little voice inside her started speaking: u can’t even take care of yourself, Lisa. How can u take care of anyone if u can’t even take care of yourself? u are miserable. House is ri... Don’t! Don’t think of Hou… I’m not going to think about the H-word anymore this night!

She snapped out of her thoughts quickly when she felt the skin of her left leg burning. She had spilled even meer of her coffee on her sweatpants and it had trickled through the thick fabric of her sweatpants to create burning red marks on her leg. She wanted to pull the sweatpants of when she suddenly saw the logo that was sewed into them, John Hoppkins…, these were House’s now nearly 25 jaar old sweatpants… House, Gregory House…

House stormed into her office accompanied door Wilson and Amber, while she was just enjoying her well-deserved cappuccino. House and Amber both wanted to spent time with Wilson, they rambled something about joined custody, but they couldn’t get to an agreement and Wilson was apparently to big of a wuss to decide for himself so she had to do it. But since she was really busy and didn’t feel the need to put up with House’s crap of Ambers for that matter her first instinct told her to send them all away and make them do clinic, GNA! She now wished she had done that and never had looked at Wilson, who looked like a little rabbit waiting to get ravished door two incredibly hungry hyena’s.

She decided she would give House and Amber the verdict, but not before she got something out of it herself: performance reviews of each member of House’s team. House kind of agreed to this and since she had been chasing after him for the past four days to make him sign his own performance review she also told him to do that. It looked like a great deal when she made it, but now it didn’t feel so great anymore… House had come back to her office later that dag to give her the performance reviews. Not only were the performance reviews of every member of his team identical, there had also been an extra performance review…
House had a devilish grin on his face when he read it to her, he felt like, no scratch that, he knew that he knew her better than anyone, maybe even better than she knew herself.

‘You act like employees should fear and respect you, but your eyes tell us - but your eyes tell us nothing because we're looking at your boobs - which tell us that you're desperate to have someone jump on u and tell u they love u one grunted syllable at a time. What u want, u run away from. What u need, u don't have a clue. What you've accomplished, makes u proud. But you're still miserable…’

She couldn’t get his words out of her head.

Why did he say all that? Of course he had wanted her to be angry and frustrated and all those things, he loved to poke and provoke her, but this time he really upset her and she couldn’t really figure out why. She watched her fingers stroke the John Hoppkins logo and then it hit her, she had known it all along but she didn’t want to, she didn’t want him to be, but he was, he always was…right.
