ca9428 picked Billie Piper:
O'Conner was really interesting and pretty, but she wasn't much like Fanny at all. Piper was off the mark too but she was closer to the novel.

I'm not completely satisfied with either. Overall though, I enjoy both, but I really liked Billie Piper's interaction with her Edmund - easier to love (for me at least).

Frances! She is the real Fanny for me! Exactly how I imagined! ;)

Echoes picked Billie Piper:
I agree with ca9428. I think that Billie Piper did an excellant job as Fanny; she portrayed her beautifully. My only problem with the movie was that it was too short; they didn't give nearly enough time to really develop Fanny's character, and they missed out on a couple of scenes that were in the book; but most of it was pretty accurate, and as i haven't seen the 1999 version, i have to go with Billie Piper.

Neither - Sylvestra Le Touzel did a fantastic job bringing the real Fanny Price to life in the 1983 miniseries. The 1999 and 2007 versions were closer to fanfiction than to the original novel.
