livemocha.com Its got basics with Kanji. I suggest getting a dictionary and a phrase book also. It makes things easier. Otherwise I suggest taking a Japanese class in college of getting rosetta stone. Kanji is hard to learn if u don't know the language itself first so focus on that.
I think Kanji is the easiest! im japanese so i know these things.. as my opinion, but in kanji its mainly like love and kiss and stuff like that so yeah theres a really cool website i found for my friend, she wants to learn japanese, i havn't got the time so i just googled it and its the first one(or was) and u can learn how to say write and recognise the word your learning!!
Kanji is door far harder for me. there are approximately 1945 characters that japanese people are required to learn. The link below is all of the kanji learned in school, take your time though, I find them really hard to study. For every one kanji u need to learn three meanings: The actual meaning of the kanji, the japanese reading(kun'yomi), and the chinese reading(on'yomi)
