I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Fifty Shades of Burntoast — So I for one cannot fathom why the movie and novel...
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
So I for one cannot fathom why the movie and novel veer slightly away from one another during the interrogation scene. If the movie had played out like this people probably wouldn’t be arguing over this “Kylo is super abusive” shit.
He is! Don’t get me wrong. In the movie he’s a major butthead but novelization paints him slightly differently.

I cant help but LOVE Rey as a character! She is so badass, as cool as Kylo Ren might look…I loved watching him get beat up to a pulp by Rey

Just imagine Kylo Ren randomly popping up in Rey’s daily life and try to convince her to be his padawan.

How do you think Kylo Ren would react to facing his mother post Episode 7?
I’m so tired of hearing that Rey is the victim of abuse in regards to Kylo Ren.
Am I dismissing what he did to her? No. What he did was awful as any action of a villain should be, but I refuse to believe that their interactions are between an abuser and a victim.
This is between a heroine and a conflicted villain that quickly becomes fixated on her and is fascinated by her strength.
Believe me, if the Reylo scenes in the movie were played out in a way where Rey is hopeless to Kylo’s powers and he uses them to manipulate her to his will, I would NOT ship Reylo. But they WEREN’T. When they were in the interrogation scene, she controlled the situation. She got him to remove his mask and bested him in his own tricks, spitting his deepest fear at his face. When they were facing off against each other in the lightsaber duel, she kicked his ass.
Rey is not a victim. She is not weak. She is not helpless. She beat him both mentally and physically.
I ship Reylo because I know they’re equals and the intensity at which they collide captivates me as a viewer. They are the embodiment of yin and yang and god damnit if the writers didn’t want people to think of the pairing as a possibility then they wouldn’t have written the scenes the way they did.
Are Reylo shippers really the ones treating Rey poorly? Or are we the ones who are actually aware of her strength and capabilities and trust her to bring Kylo back to the Light Side?
She is not fragile. She will not break. She is a fighter and a survivor. She is the heroine of a Star Wars trilogy. She will not become a “victim” of the villain that is her equal.
I’m just realizing that by failing to defend a massive military investment and severely disappointing his superior, Kylo Ren really did uphold his grandfather’s legacy
Like seriously guys. Regardless of who you do or don’t ship you should at least attempt to not to be an asshat. Everyone has different views, fantasies, whatever.
The point is, shipping two fictional characters is something everybody and their brother does. If you don’t agree with with the ship, fucking leave. Go preoccupy yourself elsewhere and calm your tits. Nobody is forcing you to go digging for the things that bother you.
Nobody is forcing anyone else to go digging for posts in the anti tags either, yet here we are.
Point being, shipping is not some sort of infallible practice free from criticism, and if you don’t like seeing people talk about things they dislike that are already showing up constantly (I don’t have to go digging for shit to see it being uncritically reblogged on my dash and bothering me enough to talk about it) then the unfollow and block buttons are there just for you. Better yet, stay out of the anti tags for things you like, since those tags exist for the express purpose of people being able to talk about things they dislike without shoving those things into the faces of people who do like them, and quit telling people to ‘calm their tits’ for daring to talk about their dislike of a gross af ship.
And quit posting shit like this in the anti tags my fucking god
For the record I only came across the shitstorm the is the reylo/anti reylo battle because I was searching a different tag. It’s fine to talk about things in a tag but it was just sad to see two groups of people from a fandom get so nasty towards each other. Shippers and non shippers are both guilty of this. I wasn’t taking either side. Sorry if I offended you.
